Solid value

Durable. Simple. Not too fussy. Easy to clean. Good value for money. A little roomie in the toe box, so be careful if you have a narrow foot.

Great shoe

I was a little hesitant with this BOA system but it seems it's all that comes on new models these days so I decided to try them out. The shoes themselves are fantastic, very comfortable, well made, and so far (about 10 rides in), pretty durable. The BOA system is better than I thought, super easy, but it does require tightening one or two times during a ride to get the feet "snicked in".

Great shoes

First pair of bike shoes - these were super comfortable from first wear. Minimal break in, just ordered another pair! Had a situation where I had to hike about 2/3 miles and was easy to do in these.

Not a bad first impression.

I’m an avid cyclist riding somewhere between 3500 and 4000 miles annually with the majority MTB/XC some road and the obligatory winter trainer. I bought this pair of shoes to replace a well worn Specialized BOA/Velcro MTB that lasted well beyond their expected lifespan. My first impression as I unboxed was - wow- nice shoe. The uppers have nice clean lines, material feel sturdy and love the aggressive soles. The BOA lacing system is nice with a relatively even tightening across all rungs. Although while riding I did get some hot spots across the top upper section. (I’m hoping this abates as the shoes are broke in) The aggressive sole appears to have superb “gription” which will definitely be beneficial during my hike a bike segments. But… missing the front cleats - screws there… but come on… why not give me the front cleats? I’ll have to go looking for those as some point before the spring and the mud/muck rides. Stiffness - stiff enough for long XC rides and feel good on a trainer. The sizing was dead on 41 and feels like 41. Overall - not a bad first impression. The hot spots across the top of the foot worry me and the lack of the cleats is irksome.

Excellent Build and Fit

I wear size 11 US. I originally ordered size 44 but it was a bit short. I am very happy with the size 45. I am happy I could also return the first smaller shoe to the store even with my mail order. The fit and firmness is excellent. I originally tried other cheaper shoes on Amazon but the sizes, fit, & feel did not compare to the Bontrager and they were a hassle to return (e.g. to China). I am very happy after about 4 rides and maybe 60 miles. I like the BOA knob and happy with a single know.

Bontrager Evoke

Needed a new pair of mountain biking shoes that fit well and were adjustable. These fit my requirements well. They are very comfortable and the ability to adjust the fit using the BOA dial is a great convenience compared to my old lace up bike shoes. I have wide feet and these are the most comfortable that I have had. Shimano cleats mount ealily and work well.

Great XC/Trail MTB Shoe

My 12 year old Forte MTB shoes finally bit the dust (the soles were separating) so I went out looking for a MTB shoe that wouldn't break the bank. I haven't logged many rides in these shoes yet, but so far I'm impressed. They seem very well made and are pretty comfortable. Time will tell how well they hold up. My only minor gripe is that the BOA lacing system doesn't seem to tighten the bottom rung (closest to the toes) as much as the upper rungs but that's easily solved by giving the BOA laces a little tug with my finger.

Not Great Fit for High Arches

Tongue of shoe is not properly centered, which means I have to adjust it everytime so the tongue doesn't stick out over the outside quarter. The benefit of a BOA is the quick fit, but having to center and adjust the tongue kind of takes away from that.

Outstanding Bike Shoes

These shoes fit and perform great. Love the Boa lacing system. I use these for indoor cycling...they breath well, are not too stiff, provide plenty of room in the toe box, and allow for easy walking. I typically take a size 44, but sized up to a 45 for a perfect fit.

Great pair of MTB SPD's

For the last few years I've stuck with Bontrager shoes when it comes to cycling. I have a couple pairs for road, and I just recently purchased these. I've always sized up and the fit is great. I'm a US sz 13 but I go with sz 47 for these since my foot is wide and the fit is good. Plus Shipping was quick! always great customer service with REI.
