I have about 1 year and 500 miles with these shoes and they are great. I ride mostly all mountain with a lot of climbing and tough descents. The high stiffness of these works well for climbing, and also for keeping my feet from fatiguing during bike park days. Really good protection on the toes, I appreciate that for the random times a rock gets kicked up at my foot. Very little signs of wear, so the durability is fantastic.
500 MILE REVIEW These shoes have a wide toe box, great traction of the bike, good stiffness on the bike, and have held up very well over time. I used to own Five ten kestrals and loved those and these are even better. I used these for mountain and gravel riding, switching between crankbrorthers mallets and egg beaters. These shoe also make a good clipless bikepacking shoe as well.
Biking is fun but not if your feet hurt. Older feet get wider and loose fat padding on the soles. My days of narrow carbon fiber bike shoes had to come to an end. I've been on my first 400 miles in these shoes and they're working out. They are low technology with laces and have a Velcro strap that not only keeps laces out of the drive train but help keep the shoes snug with any effort exerted pulling up when clipped in. They are comfortable enough to walk around in camp/public if one is touring by bike.
Shoes work great! The are comfortable and fit well. The toe box is huge for a cycling shoe, which I require. These shoes have been a great find for me.
1st ride today with these shoes; I wear a 8.5 W and these 43’s fit great . Nice padding and comfortable. Recommended
Super comfortable. Wasn't sure I'd like the straps but they do help keep the laces out of the way. No complaints at all! I got the green pair. Love them!
Comfortable mtn bike shoe, sizing is right on, nice stiff sole but easy to walk on too. Works well with flats or cleats.
Great shoes! Comfortable, easy to tie and the Velcro strap works well
The Specialized MTB shoes I bought felt great for 2 yrs. This year at 77 they hurt in the toes. I tried a zillion adjustments and tricks. An 80mile day after an 80 mile day will bring out any flaws being fitting, size, construction or efficiency. I read about old man feet spreading out. The boys at REI recommended boxy toe and specifically these shoes. They lace up and have a Velcro strap to keep laces safe and tighten up a bit. Easy to adjust strap while riding. These shoes ( only color they had matched my pistachio bike) feel like I’m not even wearing shoes at all. Hard to describe how nice to wiggle toes once in a while. They’re MTB with a tread and a recessed clip. So they don’t make noise and scratch floors. Super tight shoes are a myth. My laces can adjust and offer specific comfort up and down my metatarsals. The Velcro strap adds more pressure in infinite levels and keeps the laces from getting in the chain ring. I can adjust the strap while riding. I can wiggle my entire foot and still pedal in circles up hill, sprinting or cruising along. I could not ride without these, PERIOD. My feet are too sensitive.
Great MTB Footwear I purchased this to replace my 510s these are more comfortable and they have a better lace Velcro strap.
