After a few rides with this pair of shoes, I highly recommend them. They are very well made, good looking, true to the size, very comfortable after break in. They are my first mountain bike shoes, I do have had clipless road bike shoes for long time though. By looking the pictures, the top surface is made of fabric, but it's stiff, similar to road bike shoes. So is the sole. In addition, they are heavy. I assume they are expected features for mountain shoes. But they help me maintain the pace easier, compare to when wearing sneakers. I enjoy more riding with flat pedals now

Narrow shoe
No, I do not recommend this product
I wear a EU 41 and these are super tight, despite being the right length. I usually go a US half size up to give room for my toes and it hurts to wiggle my pinkie toe in these. I’m a woman so for men, you probably need to go 2 sizes up.

A pair of platform shoes that finally fit
Yes , I recommend this product
It’s difficult finding bicycling shoes that actually fit well. Most are too narrow where I need a wider toe box. i’m not a big fan of ordering shoes online because I can’t try them on, but I took a chance on these. I like the style, the color and the construction. These actually fit as well. Elastic band sewn into the tongue is a nice plus as I can tuck the shoe strings in. i’ve used them about a dozen times so far and I’m very pleased with them.
