Great fit and super comfortable
I have hiked at least 150 miles in these in the last two months. Incredibly comfortable, great foot bed design, perfect for wet, snowy, rocky Shenandoah and environs. The only issue so far is the rubber at the toe front is a bit loose.

Shoeless traveller due to item out of stock
I would have loved to review this shoe. I happily placed several orders on different days for various sizes at 44.83 each. Every order I placed (over 5) was cancelled due to item being out of stock. Why list an item for sale if it is out of stock?

Every boot fits different. Even if same size.

Helping confused people with all the sporadic reviews here. If you find them uncomfortable or dig in in the wrong places (Ie ankle bone, Achilles, tongue) just literally try the same size in another produced boot. I highly questioned these even fitting my foot type until I did exactly this and the current ones are very comfortable! I even notice trying two boots of the same size felt slightly bigger. Very odd but makes sense since they’re made of leather, so DON’T GIVE UP & just try another boot until it fits well. I even felt one was defective and had pebble feeling lump in the sole which I read in another review too. I’m usually a size 6 and I fit a 7.5 so size up a full size if you don’t want to wear thick socks, size up 1.5 sizes if you want to be able to wear thick socks.

Different leathers

I've read all the reviews below. I also feel that the "Wide" on these is not accurate. I actually double checked the box and inside of the tongue to make sure the wrong boots hadn't been sent. I also find Merrell's esp. 8.5W, fit my feet like a glove, just a "wow" feeling when I put them on. This pair was, meh/ok for left foot but right foot was- what on earth is this?- the leather itself felt different on the outer part- wrinkled, thin, slightly different color. Inside, the insole felt odd, bunched up, thin, just, as some said, "something not right". I'm ordering a second pair in hopes its just a one-sided lemon.

Color

These are my first pair of Merrell boots. I typically wear a size 7 but, to my surprise, had to go up to a size 8. They fit great, the toes are roomy, the sides and arch are perfectly snug. I love them. The only quirky thing about them (and it does not bother me really) is my color is Brindle (not Boulder) but one boot is a lighter color (a tan brown) than the other (a greenish brown). Has anyone else notice variations in the color? They still look great.

Cute hiker, but runs small

I got a great deal on these, so I grabbed them. I have the blue trimmed pair. They are really nice looking. However they run very small. I normally wear an 8. I ordered 8.5, and they just fit, no room for a heavy sock. So go up a full size. Also the way the tongue folds leaves a edge, so you absolutely have to wear them with socks. That being said, they are very comfortable, well-cushioned, and cute too.

Half size up, great all around shoe

Great shoe all around. I sized up based on reviews and the fit is perfect. Comfortable and works well as a hiking / walking / casual shoe. The bit of water I crossed through never got inside.

Fantastic boots

I love love love love love my boots! We’ve gone walking, snowshoeing, with cleats for ice walking, and my feet stayed dry and comfortable. Plus these boots are so pretty. I love Merrell!

Size up if you buy these boots

Seems like a good quality boot, but smaller than the stated size so I couldn't give them a try. When I opened the box I thought they sent the wrong size because the boot looked small, but the label said 8. Then I tried it on and remembered seeing some online comments about the small size. I wear 7 1/2-8 and would need an 8 1/2 to wear this boot comfortably. I've never bought a single pair of shoes in 8 1/2. It's not just smaller than an 8 in other brands, it's smaller than other Merrell 8's. This will make me think twice about buying Merrell shoes without first trying them on.

I will never buy any other hiking boot

I LOVE THESE SHOES!!! I got my first pair nearly 4 years ago and lost them in a move recently and was devastated because I couldn’t find them anywhere and figured they weren’t being made anymore, but here they are! They are comfortable and feel great and they’re SO CUTE. Not the most important thing I know but 100% cutest hiking shoes I’ve ever owned. They do run small. I usually wear a 5.5 and I wear a 6 in these and honestly I’m considering getting them in a 6.5 as well to have more room for thick socks when it comes time for winter hikes. Merrel I BEG of you to NEVER discontinue these :,) I love how sleek they are while also being tough and sturdy and grippy.

I only wear Merrell & spread the love

Bought these for my mom when she said she needed a pair of hiking boots. I have an older pair (my second pair) and love them. They have held up over the years unlike Coleman and other brands.
