Best shoe I’ve ever run in

I ran in Brooks Adrenaline for years then switched to New Balance Zante, which I loved because they were a light, neutral shoe with not too much cushioning. They were discontinued so I took a chance on the Hyperion Tempo. Without a doubt, it’s the best shoe, hands down, I’ve ever run in. Ticks every box, light, supportive (for a neutral), great for medium to long runs and just the right amount of cushion. But it is also the most durable shoe I’ve ever run in. I normally get uneven heal wear. My Zantes were always a mess after 3 months. The Hyperions are barely worn. Please don’t ever discontinue Brooks! I will always run in these shoes. Btw I’m a female runner.

Good choice after Launch 9 fail

I would actually say 4-1/2 stars but it won't let me. These are pretty good shoes but I still feel my Launch 8's were better. These are light and feel good on my feet but I wouldn't call them light and fast as their description says. My old Launch shoes felt faster. I feel they are true to size compared to my previous Brooks shoes. I ordered the orange colored pair as I like my running shoes to be slightly obnoxious looking. I bought the Launch 9 before these and tried them for 2 months but they were different from the 8's so I took advantage of their return policy and decided to try the Hyperion's.

Speed shoe!

I was skeptical of all the people saying this is a "fast shoe", but when i took these out for a run it felt as if they propelled me forward! These are amazing running shoes! They are so light and have the perfect amount of bounce as i don't like extremely cushioned shoes. These are perfect.

Great lightweight running shoe

I purchased these shoes several months back after a brief hiatus from Brooks (one I don't intend to ever take again), and they. are. amazing. They fit my foot like a glove (really), they have the right amount of cushion, while being incredibly lightweight (!), and did I mention how fast they are. Suffice to say that while everyone's foot, stride, and what one's looking for in a shoe differ, if you're aiming for a lightweight, comfortable, fast training shoe, this is it. Brooks, please please keep this shoe in the line-up. (For ref: I'm 5'5", 110, size 9.5, run 10 - 15 miles/week primarily on pavement, with a mix of stairs and manicured trail)

small toebox

I have bought many various Brooks shoes and loved them. Recently I thought to get the Hyperion tempo. Even thought the shoe was the same size and width (normal) as other brooks shoes I had before, there is actually less space around the toes than other models. Not too much of a noticable problem at first but after 1km then the 2nd..the rubbing on the outside of the big and small toes just gets worse and worse. I tried tape or thought maybe I would get used to it but not to be...anyway otherwise shoe feels ok. For me I have had to find an alternative. Anyway my tip is maybe get it fitted first or check if it suits, it was a problem for me

Easy Speed

The first 'racing' shoe I've worn in a long time, and they didn't disappoint. Fit was true to size and I enjoyed the secure but spacious fit through the toebox. The tongue slipped into the shoes very slightly, but not enough to affect comfort or cause any issues - just an observation. The underfoot feel was fantastic! The midsole offers a fantastic balance of responsiveness and cushioning. The forefoot is relatively stiff, without the true rigidity of a carbon plate, yet still offering great resistance and plenty of toespring, which made for smooth and easy propulsion. I've throughly enjoyed my first few runs in these shoes, and would highly recommend.

I really wanted to love these but....

I really really wanted to love these for the style and color but unfortunately they don’t work for my foot type. I’ve been buying brooks Ghost for years and decided to try these. I really need neutral cushion and these didn’t have that. I could tell immediately after putting them on they didn’t have the cushion I was used to. So I returned them and bought the ghosts again- unfortunately I was hesitate to buy the ghosts because I need an 8 wide and the color selection sucks for my size. I ended up choosing the plain gray on gray. Ugh! More importantly they do help my running but it wouldn’t hurt to love the look of the shoe as well as the fit. Wink wink!

Imbued with Speed Magic!

Holy lightness, what is this magic that’s imbued into the Hyperion Tempo?! My first run on them took me 6 miles & I felt like I was running in slippers with support! Then I ran a 5K race and was faster than I’ve been in a couple years (coming back from some injuries) and ran another one the following week almost keeping up with my 8-year old son who’s getting faster as well (he crossed the finish line a few seconds before me but I’m not mad, he PR’d again at 32:54). The moment I put the shoe on my feet were Happy, the first few strides my feet were Happy, and over the miles I was Happy! I’m going to increase distance on these to see how they do on longer runs over 10 miles, but so far I really love these shoes! Happy Feet, Happy Legs, Happy Runner Sole to Soul!

Wonderful shoe

I brought my first pair of Hyperon Tempo in mid-October 2020 and ran almost every day in the shoes. By late December I I logged close to 300 miles. I brought a second pair (in a different color) of the Hyperion Tempo because they just work very well for me. I felt supported/cushioned on every run and, while the shoes felt simple/like a traditional training shoe, they also are very lightweight compared with other training shoes. These would be good race day shoe. I would recommend these shoes to any runner.

Excellent speedwork, training, or race shoe

I have multiple pairs of the Hyperion Tempo and buy more every time it goes on sale because I love it so much. It is so light on my feet, and hugs so well. Love the stretchy material on the upper. I run noticeably faster in this shoe, sometimes when I'm trying not to. I think it runs true to size, but is a bit narrow on the forefoot. It took several weeks for the toebox to loosen up and for my smaller toes to stop going numb, but after the break-in period it's dreamworthy. I run 35 miles a week, and use this shoe for my long training runs and speed workouts. I wear the Ghost for my easy runs. Perfect half-marathon shoe.
