Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent in various conditions I purchased these boots about 3 weeks ago, just a few days before a snow shoeing trip in the Boulder mountains of Idaho (near Sun Valley). I was a bit nervous buying new boots so close to the trip, but there was no break in period needed with these. They fit like a glove right out of the box. I snow shoe'd in about 3 feet of snow, breaking trail, and my feet stayed completely warm and dry. I've since worn these in rain, freezing rain, walking on ice, and hiking on packed snow. They've performed really well in every setting and I am more than satisfied. Plus, Vasque now makes wide sizes for women - which I bought 9W - but they don't look wide and clunky like many wide-width shoes. I've gotten lots of compliments on how slick they look.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For light snow use I got these for the upcoming snow treat in the Seattle area. I wanted something lightweight and not too hot, these are more like a lighter hiking boot/tennis shoe. They have more of a sporty/athletic shoe look than a heavy hiking boot. They do come in wide width which you have to ask for, yes, Vasquez, they have widths! I got a 7 wide and fits almost perfect; a little roomy but the width is perfect, nothing a good pair of high-volume Superfeet couldnt make perfect. Most boots are too narrow and meant for longer toes, these are a nice rounded toe for us with little short hooves! Boots keep feet warm but not too hot. Havent worn in serious rain yet, so I can't say if totally waterproof, but are rated as waterproof. They have a nice heel cup keeps heel in place really well. The boot top/material isnt too stiff, flexes like a tennis shoe. The tread isnt too deep either to grab pebbles. Good price point on these Vasquez boots. So far, so good!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best! These boots are amazing and I love them. I live in WNY and work outside in all winter weather conditions. I bought these in the hopes of wearing them instead of a bulky overshoe. They have exceeded my expectations and have excelled in snow, torrential downpours, ice and negative temps. My feet have stayed completely dry and even without doubling up on socks, my feet have not once been cold. There was also no break-in period... I took them out of the box and walked 10 miles the next day with no problem. I love these boots!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite shoes! I shopped for boots with a specific goal in mind - marching in Washington D.C. In January. January has the potential to be cold and/or wet. I needed very supportive waterproof, insulated boots to prevent pain and injury. The associate helped me find several boots. We settled on this and then found the right size. I've since been wearing these regularly just because I like them so well. Possibly my favorite pair of shoes! I'll almost regret it when the weather turns warmer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't Be Happier This boot is exactly what I was looking for. I live in the PNW and wanted something that was going to keep my feet dry. I've done a few backpacking trips in these boots and so far no problems. Very comfortable fit and also appreciate the ankle support of a tall boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and comfortable I've worn Vasque hikers in the past as I like the narrow fit and craftsmanship! These boots not only look great, they are warm! Not big and bulky like many of its cohorts. And the soles are much better than anything I saw from other makers. Excellent for snowshoes, winter hikes and all around winter sports!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not wide enough These seemed like really nice winter hiking boots, and I was so excited to see them in wide sizes, but sadly the wide was not nearly wide enough. It's really too bad that nobody seems to make women's wide boots that are actually wide! Otherwise they seemed really nice and like they would be great for snowshoeing. The fuzzy lining was nice and I liked the design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No break in period I have delayed my review because I bought these boots for snowshoeing and unfortunately I have not gone yet. I have worn them in the cold weather and snow walking the dog around the neighborhood and they have kept my feet dry and warm. They are very comfortable I did not have to break them in and I did not have to put my orthotics in they are fine just as they are. I bought my regular size and wear fairly heavy socks they are fine with room in the toebox.

I have a 10.5m Vasquez breeze hiking boot. Is it safe to say I would wear the same size in the snow boot? Our local store rarely has the sizes to try on. Thanks!

Asked by: Tiff
I've seen people say they run small, I found them to run large. REI has responded to this question with two different answers. I would not suggest buying unless you can try them on.

So, I usually wear a size 8 - my Asolo boots are 8s, but I was wondering because these are insulated, should I look at getting a 8.5, or stick with an 8?

Asked by: em-rissa
Most customers find this boot to be true to size. If you will be wearing thicker socks with the boot, then you may choose to select a half size greater than your shoe size.

What is the temperature rating for these boots? I need something for below freezing temperatures, snow, and ice for a trip to Iceland. They also need to be waterproof. Thanks.

Asked by: 23mom
Vasque does not list a temperature rating for these boots. That said, they do have 200 grams of Thinsulate insulation and should keep your feet warm in the conditions described. They are also waterproof.

Would these boots be comfortable for hiking through Ireland in March (Expecting 40-50 degrees F)

Asked by: RonT
These are winter boots intended for snowy and icy conditions. Unless you generally have very cold feet, these may be too insulated for the conditions you describe. Hiking in 40-50 degrees F is normally done in comfort with normal hiking boots and appropriate socks.

Is this boot crampon compatible?

Asked by: IL_seattle
We only recommend the use of crampons on mountaineering and backpacking boots. Using crampons on boots with too much flex in the sole can lead to an unsecure fit.

These boots aren't available to try on at my local store.  Just wondering how the sizing runs? I wear a Women's size 11 in Merrill Hiking Boots, a Women's size 10.5 in both Salomon and Hoka Hiking Boots.  What would be the best size in this brand Vasque?

Asked by: Sassafrass
These boots run small. We recommend ordering a half size up from your normal shoe size.
