Bought these when there was zero reviews so took a gamble. Have been wearing them out in the snow for dog walks. Feet stayed warm even with thin ski socks on. They have great traction for climbing up snow mounds. They are quite stiff around the ankle but doesn't cause pain.
These boots are amazing! They feel a bit clunky when you first try them on, but when you move around they are very very comfortable and warm. The grip is insane and very sticky. Will be curious to see when they start to wear a bit, but salomon products are always good quality. For me their sizing runs big, I am usually a 10.5 and ordered a 9.5 for all their shoes. Love the laceless system and there is a plenty big "storage" tuck area in the tongue you can put the remaining part of the laces. Taken on a few hikes and highly recommend!
I have had nothing but happiness wearing the crosstrek goretex womens hiking shoe as well as standard crosstreck 6 trail running shoe. I was hoping for the same comfort in a warm winterboot. This Lace design is SO overly lace.too much extra euth no clear place to show the excess. The hard/unforgiving material makes it qear like a ski boot with no give foe the movement of the footing the boot. Very harsh on the spine and hips. I take then out for the sub zero temps on oce with my dogs if I am walking less than 10 minutes, otherwise my body can't wait to get them off wish I could return them but the snowing the first night was so dirty from the plows spreading dirt.
These boots worked well with winter mountaineering this past winter. However, the string on my left shoe is freying in the middle of my boot from my gators/snowshoes. The boots are in great condition still but would love to replace my string somehow.
I wanted to love these boots. They were a present from my daughter. They're comfortable and have good traction. However, the non tie laces always loosen and come out after you tuck the excess into the little pocket, or the boots, or wherever you can figure out where to put them. Yesterday, the laces came out again during my daily hike. I tripped over them and fell flat on my face. Today I have a black eye. I'll not risk wearing them again.
I have never seen such traction on a boot before I live in Montana and I hiked the mountains and they’re often covered in snow so I got this pair for those snow and ice days. We haven’t had a lot of snow cover so far which is weird but we had a little bit so I ran down and hiked in them and they were fabulous. The cushioning is great. The warmth is outstanding. In fact they were too warm for what I was doing they’re definitely made for the snow and for ice and anything else that can hang up so I’m looking forward to some deep snow so that I can hike down the hill in them with all that traction even on the backside of the heel fabulous. I like the design of the lace is pulling up. The only thing on this pair is when you go to hide your laces down the reservoir that’s made for it. It’s kinda hard to get them in there but great boots if you don’t wanna fall down.
These boots are so lightweight, but extremely warm and waterproof. I appreciate the easy lacing system that takes only a couple of seconds to lace up or undo. They have great traction on icy sidewalks; I'm out walking the dog a lot and wanted something that would keep me upright (and warm)!
I bought these hiking boots a month ago for cold weather 🌡 and they definitely didn't work. My feet were freezing and I couldn't walk anymore, and the temperature was 15 degrees Fahrenheit. I'm definitely returning them because they don't live up to the advertised expectations.
After you put them on , and adjust them For tightness, you are left with a long tie with no clear spot to tuck it in. Believe me - I’ve tried everything. Other than that, I am pleased with their grip on slippery, icy paths
Very comfortable to hike in the snow and ice. Laces up with the pull adjustment and doesn't slip while hiking/walking in snow. Warm enough for below zero morning dog walks.
