Not weather resistant...

Loved my first pair of Salomon's...the traction is excellent, the comfort exceeds any other trail shoes I've owned, love the lacing system...thought I'd found the perfect shoes until...the first time I wore them during a light rain and my feet got soaked. It was only a 3 mile adventure and I could feel my socks getting wet before the first 1/2 mile and by the end of this short run my socks and the entire inside of both shoes were wet. I'm so disappointed. Fortunate it wasn't a cold day. I bought these particular trail runners for the ClimaShield and all the great reviews about CS and Salomons. I always buy weather resistant trail shoes and this is the first time this has ever happened. Really really bummed out.

I already owned the Speedcross 3 CS in a smaller size, so I was familiar with the basic features. I purchased the Speedcross 4 this year, as I needed a larger size than my shoe size in order to wear thicker socks. I plan to use these as camp shoes and spare shoes when backpacking. Qualities of the Speedcross 3 and 4: good traction, snug fit with lace system, comfortable arch, waterproof. One has to watch the Salomon video to see how to roll and tuck the top of the laces under the flap near the ankle. A great shoe!

Bought these shoes for Practical Shooting. Initially bought based on recommendations received from sports peers. Fit and comfort are perfect confirming they are perfect for the sport and an asset for performance. Gave a 4 out of 5 review based on the following... 1. Bottom grips wear relatively fast; therefore, I use them strictly on the range and have to change shoes as soon as I leave. 2. Color varied significantly from the website. 3. No shipment offered to Puerto Rico. Definitely will recommend these shoes to future peers. Please enable shipment to Puerto Rico.

I initially bought these shoes as field hockey shoes, but was amazed at the comfort and started wearing them for everything. They are great for playing hockey in and provide great grip on grass and astro-turf, whilst keeping your feet dry. They are light and great for running but also supportive at the same time. I was most amazed by the quality. After nearly two years of school P.E and running and one and a half seasons of hockey and tennis, they are only now starting to show some wear.

Now that I am retired, I wear only Salomon shoes. Speed Cross is my favourite by far. Great for sports, and they can be dressed up! They always fit perfectly. Love the colours.
