Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I loved the Clifton 1. I could not wear the Clifton 2. I have been eagerly awaiting the Clifton 3, which I had heard would have a wider toe box -- which is good for me. I thought they would be perfect, but after 3 runs decided to return them. The Clifton 1 was an amazing combination of being very light weight and having great cushioning. The Clifton 3 is more than an ounce heavier than the Clifton 1 (weighed them), feels clunky, and just doesn't feel as comfortable. Also, on a 6-mile run, my feet felt very hot in them and, although I know the shoe is designed to cushion impact, the ball of my foot didn't feel as well cushioned as it did in the Clifton 1.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Changed quality of life for me I am 70 years young but I have a very bad left knee and bad back spinal stenosis I have over 40 pr. Of walking shoes and running shoes a friend turned me on to Hoka he's a runner said these might help you... the first day I got my first pair I walked a half block without my cane a miracle in itself. I wear them all the time except for shower and sleeping...I love your product I've been telling all my senior friends about them I truly believe you should develop a line for us seniors just for the enhancement of our quality of life. They really help cushion your joints and back extremely therapeutic. Thank you so much if you need a spokesperson I'm your guy I'm no brad Pitt but I could sell these to Eskimos... with no problem again thank you soooo much..!!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Width Change I have owned the Clifton 1, Clifton 2 and now Clifton 3. Each time a change was made which did not enhance the fit of the orignal model. The orignal model was great except for the tongue of the shoe but the average weight of 6.9 oz was good. I wear a womens size 10. The Clifton 2 included a cushioned tongue and other mods which I could bare the change. The Clifton 3 weights 7.40 oz. But it feels a lot heavier than that. They have modified the width and now the shoe narrow and fits me tight at the bridge of the foot. I noticed a reduction in my running time and I can feel the additional weight 1.5 oz. I pulled out my old worn Clifton 1's and started running in them again until I can find another shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great running shoes Great set of running shoes...nice improvement from Clifton 2. Good cushioning, comfortable, light weight and responsive. The only thing is that these guys don't have is enough traction on the trails, especially wet or technical trails. I wear them on the trail anyway bc they are the most versatile out of all the other hokas I own, but have slipped quite a few times. One HUGE complaint I have about Women Hoka is the colors. Someone has to explain to me why men's color are so much better! Please make the colors unisex...women don't necessarily like pink and purple.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from i Love the bounce in my step I get from these shoes I am a 51 yr old woman who had a lot of pain when walking- my chiropractor got me orthotics for collapsing arches, and I have a neuroma on each foot between 2nd, and 3rd toes- I now have my life back- I can walk, and stand all day every day!!!!!!!- my hips, knees, ankles, and feet feel great!!!- I wish I could wear these with my dress up clothes- which I just might!! - the only thing, is that there is not much room in the shoe for my orthotics, and feet- it's kindof a tight fit on the top of my foot, so I lace them very loosely - the cushioning is amazing- I tried altras, but the hoka cushion is much better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Please Bring Back Original Cliftons! I'm a walker not a runner & need a wide toe box due to hallux limitus of one foot (& early bunion on the other). My feet adore my Clifton 1s, but they're overdue replacement). I also own the Clifton 2s, but my feet are less-enthusiastic due to their narrower toe box. I optimistically purchased the 3's based on some positive reviews, but promptly returned them due to significant forefoot pain. Reading many Clifton reviews, there still seems to be a great fan base for the Clifton 1s. Why doesn't Hoka simply bring them back as Clifton Originals? My only recommended change would be to update the laces to the recent stretchier ones that don't requiring double-knotting; otherwise just leave the fabulous shoe alone!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed with this latest update The Clifton has been my go-to running shoe for years now, but the latest iteration is a huge letdown. I was excited to try the Clifton 3 after hearing rumors of a bigger toe box, and was hoping for improvements that would bring it back closer to the original version (my personal favorite shoe of all time). Yes, the toe box is slightly wider. But where are my springy, cushiony shoes? These feel heavy (they are, in fact, heavier than both previous models) and hot on my feet, and lack the stellar shock absorption of previous Cliftons. I feel like my feet are slapping the ground with every step, and these hurt the balls of my feet after just a few miles. So disappointed, looking for a new shoe. Please please bring back the original Cliftons -- funky tongue and all!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Clifton 3 Performance LOVED LOVED LOVED the Clifton 1 and then they were discontinued and you made the Clifton 2 which were too narrow for me. What I loved about your original shoe was that it was light weight and the cushion was light weight that I could wear them as racing shoes. Bought the Clifton 3. The width is perfect but OMG it is a different kind of cushion. It reminds me of the Bondi because it is like a heavy feeling and zaps my energy. I would never run races in them and I really don't want to train in them either. The Clifton 1 had the feeling of making me rock forward. These are like clunk clunk. I will never understand why shoe companies ruin a great thing when they have it. Bring back the Clifton 1 for those of us who loved it.
