HOKA  Clifton PRO Road-Running Shoes - Women's

It is as beautiful as you see in pictures, incredibly light weight and runs true to size. I loved the reinforced back so you don’t have to untie your shoes! It felt so comfortable to walk and run, super non slip and breathable!

I have neutral arches and slightly wide feet due to very early bunions. These shoes are true to size, have a comfortable toebox and good arch support for my feet. I’ve logged about 35 miles in these shoes since I got them and they are a dream to run in. They feel light on my feet, cushioning is great. The grip is solid for both pavement and crushed gravel, and best of all, my feet don’t feel tired at the end of the run. I have not used other Hokas but I am a convert and would get these specific ones again.

These are incredibly comfortable running shoes that somehow provide a huge amount of cushioning without feeling sloppy! They are very light weight and a bit bouncy, but still manage to provide nice support and responsiveness. I have somewhat loose ankles and was worried the cushioning might make it easier to roll an ankle, but I did not have that problem running on either concrete or moderate trails. I have feet that are on the narrow side and shoe did not feel loose or sloppy either in the toebox or laced section. I was very please how these shoes performed on well maintained gravel trails given they are not marketed as trail shoes. I don’t love walking in these shoes. The cushion and bounce that feels so nice running feels like a bit too much walking. But that’s fine if you’re primarily running in these shoes. I did notice that it took my feet a little time to get used to the cushion these provide and I could feel the adjustment in some of my small feet muscles. But that subsided after a few runs and was never a huge problem. All in all I am definitely looking forward to more runs in these shoes!

I love the standard Hoka Clifton and was excited to try the Pro. I’m returning to run from injury and these are all I hoped for in a daily runner. They seem to push you forward and feel supportive enough, while allowing the right movement in your foot and ankle. I am so happy with these and look forward to lots of good miles in them!

I’m usually a zero-drop girlie, but every now and then I love the cushion and comfort of a Hoka, and these absolutely fit that bill. They’re pillowy, well-cushioned, and made the city streets I run on feel like dirt instead of concrete. Though they’re comfortable, I’m a bit concerned about durability. I’m in a recovery period right now, so over the course of a month, I only wore them for about 75 miles of slow running, and I’m already seeing signs of wear. The treads look decent, but the sides and soles are starting to peel a bit. This hasn’t impacted usability yet, but it’s worth noting. Also of note is the lack of weather-proofing. It’s always a trade-off with breathability, but as a PNW runner, I need a shoe that won’t soak my socks and become slippery after five minutes of misty drizzle. This is not that shoe. Admittedly, they’re not the most breathable either—my feet get pretty hot despite the meshy top. My other big complaint with these is how quickly dirt/gravel gets into them—I took these on one gravel run and had to stop multiple times to dump them out, something I don’t have to do with my Altra runners. These will likely become office shoes for me, instead of staying in the running rotation, or even the dog-walking rotation. They’re aesthetically funky and cute, with a vibrant burst of neons balanced with a bright white, and I’ve received compliments on them when I’ve worn them on walks/errands. I can also wear them all day comfortably, which is a win! So major points for being comfy and cute, but points lost for functionality and durability.

Never thought I'd be writing a review for shoes that I once judged as too expensive and horrible colors. But after a stress fracture in both feet a few years ago and going through a pair of shoes every month I decided to put a generous giftcard to work. Those were my 2024 Bondi 8's which held up to 8100 miles over 18 months. They still felt ok when I slipped out of them into another brand shoe for 3 days. The toe rubber began to peel from the fabric and my little toe was starting to let me know it was planning on busting thru soon. So for 3 days I went back to a brand new pair of my pre-HOKA experiment. Day 4 I thought I had sprained my foot and decided to just put the old Bondis back on and start looking for new HOKAs. Life got in the way of serious shopping and then the realization that I had re-fractured the foot (not a bruise, not a sprain). Wore the giant boot for a few weeks, but as a 15 mile a day dog walker that boot wasn't working out smoothly. Finally bought a pair of Clifton 10s in a light color which felt good and stiff enough to replace the boot, but that cream color was never going to hold up to pack walking. So found these Clifton PROs in blue and these feel even better than the C-10s. For the record, color palettes matter and the giant rubber heel on the new Bondis looked silly. These feel and look good - enough that I will probably buy a few more pairs. Yeah, never saw this review in my future. Try them from REI and return if you hate them.
