Rated 5 out of 5 by from Technical jacket works great! I bought this coat because I need another layer and I really wanted to support Sherpa Adventure Gear. This company was started by Tasha Sherpa and provide some jobs and education to the Sherpa communities in the Himalayas! I saw that there was a review that only gave it one star saying it was tight in the shoulder stitching. The reviewer should have just ordered the next size up. They may have been disappointed but the jacket doesn't deserve such a low rating. This is a stretch technical jacket that is cut to be worn while climbing or carrying a pack and can accommodate a helmet. You can easily reach up over your head without the jacket riding up on you. I'm going to use it for biking and skiing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rock Solid Soft Shell The Sherpa Jannu has everything you'd expect from a softshell and compares well to the Patagonia Levitation, Black Diamond Dawn Patrol, and Dynafit Mercury DST The cut is athletic. Trim enough so there is little excess fabric pooling around the wrist, waist and back. The stretchiness of the fabric and cut of the design allows a full extended reach without hem lift, or wrist exposure. Layering with a medium fleece like the Black Diamond Compound still allows plenty of mobility. Neck circumstance doesn't feel like it compresses the chin or throat even with a light neck gaiter and fully zipped up. The double weave fabric is tough, with plenty of abrasion resistance without fraying. The DWR will shed light precip and medium snow. Wind resistance is good against light gusts so heat retention is solid. Breathability is grand under high exertion with two deep chest and hand pockets that allow plenty of ventilation without unzipping the jacket. You can also use the 2-sided zipper, which glides super smooth and starts easy, to open up for a large heat dump, or accommodate a harness. The hood is cavernous for a climbing helmet but cinches down well for a beanie. Build quality and stitching is also first rate. All around, this is a rock solid softshell. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Return same day. Shoulder seams on sleeves are sewn too tight so when walking feels like there trying to dig into your skin.
