Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its just so wonderful! Always wanted to go backpacking, so picked this up at REI after trying on a couple different packs, this one felt the most comfortable. I would definitely recommend trying some on before purchasing. I love this pack, have used it several times this year already. Everything stays organized and is easily accessible with all the openings/pockets and its very comfortable on your back and shoulders! My first trip was 20miles over the weekend and still felt great on the way home. Its super sleek looking too, I'm so happy with this purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit I tried on a few different brands of packs and also attended a fitting session with the reps. This pack fit the best and had the most features. Since its purchase I have used it on two separate occasions and am very pleased with the fit and comfort. I wanted to go toward light weight. I am able to carry a two man tent, sleeping bag and pad. Along with the other necessities I am really happy about my choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect backpack! I bought this pack and used it to hike the JMT. 230 miles, and I couldn't be happier. It adjusted to fit me perfectly and comfortably. It's a little on the heavy side with all the ultralight gear available, but I'm very happy with the extra padding and comfort it provides. I've also used it for traveling to various places/countries and haven't had any complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally found my pack! I spent over 2 hours at REI with some wonderful, patient staff helping me. I tried-on several other packs, but none fit me quite right (didn't sit right on the shoulders or against my back, etc). We finally tried this one, and the staff and my husband knew this was the one for me instantly when they saw it on me. It set perfectly against my frame with no "gaps" anywhere, and was the most comfortable when loaded. I just returned from my first backpacking trip with it, and I feel great. I had 3 days of gear and supplies (split between my husband and me) in it, and it all fit fine with some room to spare (total weight, including the pack and water, was about 20 pounds). The pack felt and handled great both down and up hill on switchbacks and flatter terrain. You can load from the top or bottom, and there is a front access zipper as well. This makes it easy to get what you want from the pack without having to remove everything. The hydration pack pocket is removable and can be used as a daypack for side trips. The top lid is also removable if you want, but it has both an internal and external pocket on it, so it's nice extra room for light items you want to get to easily. My light jacket fit nicely in the stretchable front pocket. It comes with a detached raincover, though I didn't need it on this trip. Since I used the hydration bladder, I can't comment on the ease of bottle pocket access while moving. I am so happy to have found something that works well for me. I'd recommend that any woman try this pack, but especially any woman who has had a difficult time finding a pack that fits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible comfort, capacity, attention to detail I love everything about this phenomenal backpack! I just returned from my first overnight trip with it--a 15 mile backpacking trip through Harriman State Park in NY, with about 18 lbs of gear--and have only good things to say about it. The pack wore comfortably the entire weekend and was great at keeping weight off my shoulders and distributing it gently to my hips via the nicely cushioned waist belt and straps. Pockets on the belt were handy for snacks and my phone for taking pictures. It felt stable and balanced on my back going both and down steep climbs. The ventilation design kept me cool, and I loved the design of the pack's main chamber. A removable panel hangs like a hammock to separate the toe from the rest of the chamber, making a great place to stash your sleeping bag that's easily accesssible without having to dig through the whole pack, although you could also remove this panel if for some reason it were in the way. I've done lots of day hiking but am new to longer backpacking trips, and this great pack made me eager to head out again soon!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most Underrated Pack at REI After trying on a ton of packs and not being thrilled about any, the REI associate I was working with told me to put a little trust in him that I'd love this and order it online. He was right- I do love it! I really wish the stores stocked this bag and the sales associates talked it up more because it is truly wonderful! Every time I've been in the store with my friends they talk about how expensive Gregory packs are and move right along to other brands. In fact, the store I bought mine was the only one out of 4 that I've been to that said anything further than "They're nice but $300+." This is one of the cheapest bags of this size outside the REI and the Deuter options. The bag comes with a little stuff-sack like daypack and also a rain cover. The value here really cant be beat. It is also the lightest with the exception of the Flash 60. Affordable and light? Two stars right there without even taking into account how comfortable this bag is. I love all the extra pockets and adjustability this bag offers. If you don't want the extra top brain it's completely removable. The sleeping bag divider is removable as well, as I know they are a deal breaker for some people (I like having it). Even if I don't use all the pockets I enjoy having the option to if I would like. One hipbelt pocket is mesh so you can stretch it to fit whatever you want and the other is the water resistant material that the rest of the pack is made out of. I like to pack this bag into a "potato" shape when I not carrying much, as the frame sits low enough that I can move my head around without hitting the framing like what would happen with most bags. The lumbar support feels amazing and is almost like a micro back-massage. The mesh backing provides great airflow and I never once felt overheated. It has a reservoir hose slot and a clip on the right which is great. Both straps have the little loops you can hang your sunglasses on. Overall this is a fantastic bag that deserves to be talked about. I did rip the mesh on the hip belt pocket but that was from messing around and literally squeezing between two rocks that I knew I wouldn't fit through. The rest of the pack was completely unphased by that endeavor so I'd say it's quite durable! Also a dumb aside, I really enjoy the dark charcoal color option. It's minimalistic yet fun at the same time and isn't the same old purple/turquoise that womens bags tend to be..... Although you likely will end up with a groutfit.
