After a long review of comparable backpacks I took a shot at this pack for our attempt on Denali. Although it's not heralded as an alpine pack, it chose to go with Gregory due to its reputation for comfort. Gregory is also known for being an extremely heavy pack but in the case of the Baltoro it matched its competitors in weight for capacity. It definitely had the capacity to swallow all that I gave her. My MH -40 sleeping bag fit nicely in the bottom of the pack in a sideways position. This allowed all other gear to nestle nicely on top. I never ran out of room with this pack. The only problem I had was with the sternum strap... once the pack with used and broken in, it would ride up and start to choke my neck. I solved this by using two safety pins to secure the sternum strap in place. Great, comfortable pack for a long-haul.
