Great pack. a few things to mention. (Recommended)

I purchased this to take to Mt Whitney, and will be using it for 7+ day hikes. Performs as well as most other med-high end packs. Make sure you get it fitted in the store if you don't know how to do it yourself. Has enough pockets. Daypack is cool but I didn't use it. Rain cover is quick to deploy and fits well. This is a good size pack for the average trekker, it can be compressed to a smaller size for those 2 day hikes, and can open up for a full 7 day hike (probably more if you store some bulk on the outside). I highly recommend you get a compression bag to shrink the size of your sleeping bag and clothing. Ice axe attaches nicely. All straps are very adjustable, I am 6' 145lb and the small fits me well. WHY DIDN'T I PUT 5 STARS? (1) The waterproof pocket doesn't fit most modern smartphones. (Galaxy s6 Active doesn't fit, iPhone 5s does fit). I just used it to store my charger pack and car keys. (2) Needs attachment points in the center of the pack, for example there is no place to hang wet shoes outside the pack, if you hang wet shoes on the side, it constantly slaps your arm and gets you wet. I'm going to have some MOLLE straps or similar sewn on. (3) The right side water bottle pouch is a pain to use with one hand. Sometimes you get lucky and it slides right in (heh), but usually not... If you really want a waterproof phone pocket and the built-in one is too small, buy a "molle waterproof phone pouch" and attach it to the waist belt, or be like me and get a nerdy fanny pack. I WOULD BUY IT AGAIN. Unless I found a similar pack that solved the three issues noted above for similar price.

Great Bag

I recently purchased this bag, and the women's Deva for my wife. We just took them out for a 3 day hike last week. The bags were excellent. The rain cover and day bag additions were very useful. The support seemed great and the bag was comfortable and I stuffed a ton of gear into it. My only complaint would be the waterproof bag that sits on the belt. It is way too small to fit any kind of modern day electronic device. Also, the day bag could have a little more storage, like a deeper or additional pocket in the front. Those are just minor issues for an otherwise great bag.

Outstanding!!

This is the best heavy-duty backpack I've ever owned. Very comfortable. Makes your load actually seem lighter. Easily swallows a ton of gear. Suspension is excellent. Different-sized mix-and-match harnesses and waist belts make customizing much easier than is true with other packs. Love the lumbar support. Easy access. The fact that it comes with a rain cover is an appreciated extra. Definitely not an ultralight pack, but much more rugged.

Loved it

I bought this pact in preparation for a 11 day trip with many 2-4 day training trips before hand. It preformed remarkably for on all of my trips. I found the brain of the park to be extremely easy to use even with the pack fully loaded. During my trip at one time I had a full 4 days of food on me and the pack felt no more full that it did with a day or two of food.it really conforms to what you have in it and feels full and balanced with almost any amount of gear and food. I loved the water proof side pouch for keeping my handkerchief dry and liked the easily accessible side pouch very useful. Over all loved this pack. My only complaint is that I got a small and should have gotten the medium.

It's an amazing backpack. Period.

I backpack a dozen or so times a year. I almost always bring people with me that are new to backpacking. As such, I usually volunteer to take some heavier comfort items to get people to fall in love with backpacking a littler easier. Being the unofficial sherpa for the group, I need a bigger pack than most. This backpack fits the bill perfectly. I've never run out of room with it and it is exceptionally comfortable to wear, even under significant weight (70+ pounds). The organization features are great and it's very lightweight for how big it is. The only issue I've had with it is a fabric tear around the sheath that covers the frame at the bottom of the bag. Gregory warrantied it and I haven't had an issue since.

Awkward Design, Poor Execution

This pack has many features - too many features. Or should I say, the pack has too many features that don't work together and don't make the pack easier to use. The big, vertical zipper front pouch is awkwardly shaped and difficult to use. The two side pouches do add any space to the main compartment and instead are impossible to pack if the main pack is already full which makes them nearly impossible to use for items that you need on the trail. The water bottle pouch on the hip belt is well-designed except that it unnecessarily folds up into a velcro hiding place which, for me, adds no value. The hip-belt pouches are too small, especially when the pack is on. The pouches on the lid use an awkward front to back zipper and so are not easily accessible while the pack is worn. The sleeping bag compartment zipper is overly arched making it difficult to zip up. And the worst thing of all, the suspension is uncomfortable. Both the shoulder straps and the waist belt are "free floating" while the bag is warn, giving the overall feel while wearing the pack of having the pack loose. I had this pack for two months before exchanging it for something with more useful features, rather than over-engineered marketing features.
