Black Diamond  Oval Keylock Carabiner

I purchased this to use for my horse slow hay net, works great for that. Tried to use with dog leash, seems to big for that use.

BD ensures that their products always meet CE and UIAA standards. My application of this product has been bolt hanger clipping for anchors and for in-line direction points for rudimentary slack lines. Since oval carabiners direct forces to exist on the centers of opposing ends, this carabiner in particular is great for these applications Good project, reasonable price, simple design.

I bought this for firefighter equipment. It is easy to use and manipulate with bunker gloves on and the weight it supports definitely allows for life safety; it can be used for bail-out, dragging something, or anything in the middle.

This Carabiner is perfect for any applicable application. It works as expected and is both light and strong! My only concern with the order was related to the shipping. The single carabiner was shipped in an 11" x 8" x 6-inch box that could have easily contained 12-20 of these carabiners. Given the virtually indestructible design of the carabiner, this reviewer believes it would be more environmentally and cost friendly to ship in a recyclable padded envelope.

I work as a wildland firefighter and it's nice to have a solid piece of gear to use if I need it. It is a simple throwback carabiner style that works great.

Have the new KN strengths changed? The new ovals are 23KN, according to Black Diamond's website.

To echoe other reviews, this beaner is great for racking stoppers, hexes, and tricams because the gear won’t stack up on itself.

I bought this carabiner for hooking up my dog to a skijoring belt I wear when running. It works great, and is much better than the trapezoidal carabiner I previously used.
