It Clicked...
Click: My Hotwire Carabiner Changed Everything I placed a screw deep into solid ice and then backed it up with a stopper. The stance was solid, one more pitch to the summit of the Aiguille. I used a hotwire to clip into the belay. I heard the distinct click over the gentle wind. It “clicked” for me. I belayed my partner up. When she arrived, I knew I had to ask her to marry me. Years later now, the mountains we climb are different: work, house, responsibilities, two happy children. I drive the youngest to baseball practice. The same Hotwire biner, now carefully holds my car keys, and I fidget with it during the game. Thanks Black Diamond for protecting me in my adventurous, mountain years.
super durable workhorse
I'm still using about a dozen of the original hot-wires I bought in the 90's. The gate action is as good as ever and I have never had 1 get sticky. They are the most long lasting carabiners I have ever had. The rest of my rack is on original neutrinos which are just as good as the hot-wires. I can't say enough about how well these have held up. 15 Bigwalls and well over 1000 days of climbing over the last 25 years
Didn't work with my Petzl Ascender as a rope safety
The Petzl has a round opening for a rope safety clip. The shape of these carabiners isn't a good fit with a round hole. They functioned just fine, but removing them was hard as they would get locked in place. I'm sure they are great for other uses, but not this one.
Bee Hive Trail Acadia National Park
We are senior citizens and the half finger gloves will help us maneuver on the trails iron rungs. All good ,the gloves arrived promptly and are exactly what we wanted. The larger carabiner holds the 4 gloves securely to my back pack.
Best Lightweight Carabiner
Picked up a handful of these for alpine QuickDraws in my glacier rescue kit. Very smooth and secure action while being very light. Also useful for securing gear to your pack on the approach on on the peak.
A good Carimexican at a good price.
Used these to make some alpine draws. They work as advertised. Gate action is nice. We'll see how the gates hold up after a few seasons but for now I'm happy with them.
Excellent standard wiregate caribiner
Excellent wiregate caribiner for the price. I use this for quickdraws, gear, camping, light rigging, or anywhere a high quality caribiner is needed.
Solid for what it is!
Not using this for anything crazier than attaching a Nalgene to my pack most of the time but couldn’t ask for a better carabiner for the job!
Love them
Have hotwire on my quickdraws and I use them on my alpine drawers. Work smoothly with easy clip in to bolts and clipping your rope.
Great quality for price
This carabiner is without doubt my favorite non-locker on the market. I use it for many different aspects of my climbing.
