Black Diamond  HotForge Straight Gate Carabiner

These are my favorite carabiners to build draws with. So clean looking and the gate action is the best.

Solid feeling carabiner, nothing fancy. A little on the large side.

These were the top biner on my sport draws I bought last year. Really noticed how smooth unclipping them from my harness was in comparison to the wiregates. I bought enough to swap out the top biners on all my alpine draws and it reduces the amount of times the nose gets caught on your gear loop. Cheaper but not as good as the Oz biner.

I recently replaced all of my wiregates with these biners. I cannot believe how smooth these things clip, not to mention they just feel solid when you are going to clip! Love how the nose doesn’t snag on the bolt or harness, and the black color looks amazing too. Can’t go wrong with these things.

Bought this carabiner to replace BD's older gold model of the same type. I like these carabiners for my alpine draws, as they do not have hook that can catch the sling as your trying to extend it with one hand. With this carabiner, the sling will slide out smooth as silk.

I bought the black straight gate's and bent gate's, combined with the 16cm Logo daws. They are good. Just like my old Petzl Spirit or the Edelrid. The only con, is that the hanger end of the draw has a very big opening. So far not an issue on climbing.

Extremely well built; they function exactly as they should with ease. Black Diamond makes high quality items that you should be using as much as possible.

Exactly what I needed to replace the carabiners on our existing QuickDraws. I love how smooth and light weight these are. Black Diamond for life!
