I've never been a fan of synthetic fabrics for baselayers, so made the switch to merino wool awhile ago, but even the high quality ones tended to itch just a little bit. Wasnt sure what to think about this one with no reviews but I happened to drop by a store and was able to feel the fabric and was sold. It might be the most comfortable shirt I've ever worn. It has a nice, medium weight feel without being too thick and is super smooth/soft. No itching at all and doesn't feel cool like some synthetics do. Performed nicely on the slopes as well. I might stock up on a few of these because I don't really see how any baselayer could improve on this
This is SO awesome!! :) Thanks so much for sharing this feedback, for your time and support, and most of all - for these details!
Both layers are a major step up from my last set of base layer clothing. I wound up ordering two sets. The first was large for the bottom and extra large for the top. I’ll use these for more movement activities, like backpacking. They fit snugly, as I like an active base layer to fit. I ordered a size up for each as a second pair for activities where I am standing around and want a bit of extra room. Even at a size up, both pieces are form fitting. I do not have any baggy or droopy areas.
This was my first piece from Cotopaxi and fittingly, I took the Liso baselayer to Ecuador to give it a true test on the mountain the company is named for. It performed well and I'm pleased to add it permanently to my mountaineering kit. I wore it on both Cotopaxi and Chimborazo and it got really cold on both mountains (whiteout on Cotopaxi and ridiculous cold above 20,000 feet on Chimborazo). The sleeves are long enough to fit under any layer and the flat seams make it comfortable under your second layer. This is important because there's nothing worse than layers bunching up. I like my layers to fit close while giving me the range I need to move quickly while climbing. The Liso baselayer is made from quality materials. The soft backside feels very nice on the skin. It's amazing what textiles are available these days. This is made from nice materials with quality stitch work. I wouldn't mind trying the pants as well.
This is incredible! Thank you for sharing your experience! Hope you had a great trip! :)
I recently took this on a one week camping trip and it got a lot of wear right out of the gate. First and foremost, this shirt is incredibly comfortable. The inside is just super soft but I didn't notice any sticking if I did start to sweat. It feels like it's high quality and I expect it'll last me awhile which is great. I enjoyed the little detail of having the thumb hole if you just want the little extra warmth that comes from pulling the sleeves over your hands. Fit was good. I'm a 5'11", 165lb male and I got the medium. I probably could have sized down for a snugger fit if I want something more skin tight, but I was by no means swimming in the medium. I maybe could have done with something just a bit warmer than this, but chances are, if you're using this you're layering, in which case just make sure you check the temperature before deciding which jacket to pack. Overall, I'd recommend this and I'm glad I bought it for my trip.
This is comparable to an under armour style thermal shirt except that the material is much softer and more comfortable. The inside is fleece lined I think, which makes it perfect for layering in winter or wearing by itself in spring and autumn. It has holes for your thumbs, so the sleeves have a little extra length. Otherwise it fits really nicely.
The Liso Baselayer was all I wanted to wear on winter runs in New England this year - perfect for a run in 30-45 degree temps. I am a woman, and had this in a Women’s Medium, but the size wasn’t in stock during the recent sale. Men’s Small is a nearly perfect alternative - slightly tighter on my hips, but can’t complain about the sale price!
Bought this liso base layer set for winter snowboarding. Not quite cold enough for a proper review. Did try them on. Nice & cozy brush on interior. Everyone wants merino wool, it’s still scratchy. Glad to have found this alternative. Male. 5’8” 170 lbs. size medium. A little snug but not “compression” style
Very satisfied with this shirt that seems to do everything right: soft and comfortable, slim fitting, right amount of thickness. I just wore it this past weekend to run a race in below freezing temps and it performed exactly as I would have hoped. Would buy additional ones if they had more color choices!
Soft, warm, a good layer under a light jacket, or even under a sweater or flannel shirt. I’ve run in it, skied in it, and have worn it around casually! Fits snugly enough to be the first layer, but loosely enough to have a more tightly fitting layer underneath.
Thank you, thank you :)
My new go-to shirt as a baselayer, to wear on the way to the gym, or otherwise. Super comfy inner fleece material. Great fit. I'm 6'5" and 190 lbs and ordered a size XL and it fits great.
