The Asics Gel-Nimbus 27 is an ultra comfy every day trainer. Sizing is true to size and the toe box has plenty of room for your feet. I didn’t feel that they were too wide, however, and provided great stability and confidence. I went on various runs ranging from shorter 3-6 mile runs to longer 6-10 mile runs and these sneakers felt very comfortable. The soles were extremely cushiony but also provided some “snap”, giving it some bounce and propulsion in your cadence. These are a little bit on the heavier side but for me they were great on easy run days and recovery runs. The tongue is super stretchy and the ankle collars added to the comfort. In all, these are great sneakers for those looking for an ultra comfortable pair of sneakers for easy pace days and recovery runs. I gave this 4 stars because they are slightly on the heavier side and there are some other models out there that are as comfortable but lighter. But really, these are a great pair of running / recovery sneakers. I would definitely recommend.
I'm a normal width foot, size 11 running shoe in multiple brands and these fit me true to size. I have used these shoes on pavement, packed dirt and gravel. These shoes are luxuriously comfortable. My favorite features are the heel cup and tongue. The heel cup is set in from the upper and wraps your ankle like a neck pillow, so there is no rubbing of the heel cup on your ankle. The gusseted tongue is soft, stretchy and stays in position. I would describe the shoe as comfortable, cushioned and protective, but not inspiring to run in. Though the midsole is soft, it is not squishy or laborious to run in. However, it is not responsive/bouncy/energetic either, so it does not make you want to run faster and pick up the pace. The sole is wide enough to have some natural stability, but doesn't feel cumbersome. However, because the sole is soft and these have a high stack, they will roll on their edges are not stable enough for uneven surfaces. I think this can be a viable daily trainer for those who want to cruise miles in comfort and don't care about feeling fast or nimble. I think it would be also a great daily trainer for heavier runners or runners nursing chronic injuries. For everyone else, its more of an easy day/recovery shoe, so it loses a star for its lack of true versatility.
The ASICS Gel Nimbus 27 is by far the one of most comfortable shoe I have ever owned. I’ve owned many of the top brands going from the “H” brand Clifton 9 to the Nimbus 27 I wasn’t expecting so much extra cushioning even with the extra foam these are very lightweight with a very supportive & breathable upper. I really like the strap on the back of the shoe making slipping into these shoes a breeze. Highly recommend for recovery after a long day in your work boots and for walks or light jogging around your neighborhood.
These shoes are true to size. I’ve been wearing the Gel Nimbus model for 3 years and rotating. They are a quality and comfortable shoe. The 26 seemed to run a little wider(I wear a wide shoe). The 27 has a wide toe box but it isn’t so wide that your foot slides on long or hot runs. I’ve put about 50 miles on these so far and they are holding up just like the previous models. I’ve gotten as many as 600 miles out of the Gel Nimbus and these seem to be just as durable. If you are looking for a neutral shoe, you can’t beat this one.
These are the first pair of Asics I've owned and so far I've been impressed. I am not the biggest fan of the aesthetics of the running shoe trends (i.e., super-thick soles), but these shoes look better than most of the ultra cushion shoes. The black and white two-tone looks sleek and manages to keep them relatively wearable in a casual setting, but these are ideally active wear shoes. The fit and quality of the shoe is excellent, with a highly-engineered upper that may be the best I've ever had in a running shoe. The fit is spot on and the elasticity in the tongue and achilles finger handles make taking on and off a pleasure. There are nice details in the textile upper as well, and the shoes breathe nicely. I just love how these fit my feet. Onto the soles, which I realize are the real star. I know Asics was going for max cushion here and they have achieved a high level for sure. When walking, the shoe strikes nicely and roles off the toe while feeling generally neutral on a fore/aft plane. When running, the cushion is always there no matter where you strike, heal, mid-foot, or ball. As someone who does not race or seek to set record times, but runs somewhat reluctantly, these are a great shoe to take off the edge of hard surfaces. The tread seems grippy enough but longevity is something that I am unsure of. Overall, a pleasant surprise and one that will have me thinking about Asics for my next pair for the first time.
This is the best shoe I’ve worn this year; the Brooks Glycerin Max is a close second. The shoe is amazingly comfortable and supportive at the same time. I’ve pretty much realized that these days you are going to have to pay at least $175 to get a shoe that is super comfortable. The upper of the shoe is great, the midsole is plush and the fit is great, it doesn’t slip around your foot. I used to be a diehard Hoka fan, but Asics and Brooks have both surpassed them by a significant margin.
Recommended by a dear friend who walks most days four to seven miles. Big Thumbs Up
Comfort and fit our spot on. I have recommend this shoe to my friends.
