I was so excited to get these that I signed up early for them. Originally tried a test pair on at my local running shop. First RUN was great up until my Achilles started rubbing pretty badly on the heel cup. Ended up doing some sprint/interval work and turned into a total disaster. Just took them out for my second run and same thing except now worse. Blood and blisters to boot. Issue otherwise feels really incredible. But the design team totally missed with the dagger of a heel cup that they put together. I don’t know how anybody is able to wear these without it digging into their Achilles. R&D may need to go back to the drawing board for a 2.0.
I’ve been a big fan of the ASICS Novablast for my daily training, and the Sonicblast feels like the perfect complement. You can feel the difference right away, even just standing, it’s noticeably stiffer. The addition of the plate gives it a snappy, responsive feel that really comes alive when I pick up the pace. Paired with the rocker shape, it rolls effortlessly through each stride. I can easily see this becoming my go-to shoe for speed sessions, track workouts, and racing 5Ks, 10Ks, and even half-marathons.

Excellent running in these comfortable light, cushion and plated shoe
I feel Asics really delivered on this one, a daily trainer that you can use for faster efforts on tempo runs and speed work. The upper is super nice and comfortable. The Astroplate on this is a great addition for an extra springy feeling. The entire shoe also feels really durable and you'll be able to put in a lot of mileage on this.
I was super excited to try these out, and on first impressions they were super fast. However, less than a couple miles into my 10 mile workout, I noticed that the heel cup was digging into my Achilles. I thought it was just minor, but once I started my cool down, I saw the two massive blisters that had formed and burst on my Achilles. I also developed some hot spots on the inside of my foot near the arch. The shoes felt super fast but I won’t be able to wear them again because they destroyed my feet. Such a shame. I can’t recommend these to anyone because of these issues. I am a long time ASICS fan and have never had any blister issues with their shoes, so this was an unexpected disappointment.
These are fun! These feel maybe a little more like a trainer than a workout shoe. It's like a Magic Speed and a Superblast but a little more bouncy and rolly than both. It's also pretty stable, which I appreciate. I thought about returning them because they felt pretty narrow mid foot for me(I often order wide when available), but after playing with the lacing, I was able to make it work. These felt amazing for strides, especially for something with 46mm in the heel.
I was super excited about these shoes because they’re some of the best I’ve ever worn—lightweight, comfortable, and great support for runs. Unfortunately, the sole started separating after around 75 miles, which was disappointing given how well they performed at first. I really wish the durability matched the comfort.
I hated these. I may have gotten a bad pair. I don't know. These just felt SO firm, I've used other plated shoes and loved them, but these feel like there is no bounce, nor cushion. I wanted to love them, I heard BITR rave about them, but the foam just felt a bit dead. My legs feel battered when I use them.
