Nimbus 28

The Nimbus 28 represents a noticeable shift compared to previous versions of the series. It is lighter and feels more streamlined on foot, which is immediately apparent during longer runs and steady efforts. The reduced weight improves efficiency and makes the shoe feel less cumbersome over distance. In testing, the Nimbus 28 performed well during long runs, easy runs, and steady-paced running. The cushioning remains comfortable and protective, especially over extended mileage, and the ride is smooth and predictable. At a consistent pace, the shoe feels stable and relaxed rather than aggressive. However, this lighter construction comes with a trade-off. Grip is clearly worse than earlier Nimbus models, particularly on wet or smooth surfaces. While traction is sufficient for normal road running, it is not confidence-inspiring in poor conditions or on sharp turns. Overall, the Nimbus 28 is best suited for easy runs and long, comfortable mileage. It is not designed for speed work or high-intensity sessions, but it excels as a daily trainer for runners who prioritize comfort and reduced weight over maximum traction. Best for: Easy runs, long runs, recovery days Not ideal for: Wet conditions, tempo or speed-focused workouts

Needs Work...

Ongoing problem... these sneakers (and most new generation Asics) need a Full Length Rubber Sole. These little patches of Rubber Sole wear out in weeks. The exposed foam is not made to handle pavement, it shreds and provides no support. You can feel rocks through it. The lack of a Full Sole creates a lack of structure and support allowing the sneaker to bend upwards, hyper extending the forefoot and toes once the sneaker breaks in. (Painful) Same problem on Nimbus 25,26,27, and now 28. I've owned them all. Need a change guys.

Very Uncomfortable

These are the first pair of Asics that I have had that were horribly uncomfortable. The heel of the shoe is too soft and the rocker in the forefoot has been moved back to far. When you stand in these shoes your heels sink in which makes your toes point straight up in the air. That makes standing and walking very uncomfortable. When running it's a little better, but since the rocker has been moved back the run is not enjoyable either. This shoe is very disappointing. At least they look really nice...

What happened, Did you run out of rubber for the sole? Gel nimbus 26 was my favorite shoe, Gel nimbus 26 for supinators , people who wore out the outer edge of the shoe.. Thrubber covered the outer edge of the sole, no longer there on the later versions This massive reduction of rubber throws that classification out. Only good for normal pronators now . And people who dont run on trails or road. Even the gel nimbus trail shoes need more rubber . What a downgrade

Toe box is very narrow and shoe runs warm

I have bought two pairs of Gel Nimbus 28. I returned one, but am stuck with the other. I wear a size 10.5. The toe box is very narrow on the regular fit. It feels like it ends in a point rather than being rounded. I returned one pair and got the "wide" fit. Wide fit is more like a "regular" fit and fit perfectly. However, on the second pair, I love the color of the all green pair called Vital Green, but they only make it in regular fit. The 11 is just too long. So, I am stuck. I don't understand why they don't make wide fit in all of the colors as an option. If they made 10.5 wide fit in Vital Green, the shoe would fit perfectly. The second issue is that the shoe seems to wear "hotter" than the Nimbus 27. I don't know exactly what the difference is between the two shoes, but my feet feel warmer with the 28 and that is not a good thing since I live in Fl. Overall, decent shoe, but it hasn't lived up to the hype.

26 is better

I like the Nimbus 26 much better but the 28 is better than the 27 in my opinion - didn't the 27 at all! The 28 has more cushion in the front and makes the heel feel lower compared to the 26. The 28 feels cushier overall which makes me think they will wear out quicker but time will tell. Would defintely like to see better color options!!

Sad :/

Gel Nimbus 26 was my favorite shoe of all time, im 34. The reviews ive ready about the 27 and the 28 about the sole being a big downgrade and the lack of good colors. It should be a must to have a Black and White color option for any shoe you make. Very sad because i cant find the 26s anywhere :/

Color ways are bad

Gonna be like everyone else and comment about the women’s color ways are all extremely boring / ugly. I’ve tried ordering the neon green in men’s but the smallest sizes stay sold out, I’m assuming because all of the women are buying that size since ours are so ugly.
