My daughter bought me the GT-2000 14 in Monument and white and I loved it. My feet felt very stable , The toe box was just right and overall it was very comfortable shoe. So I bought another pair in all black so I can alternate with my dress shoes when I work late. The all black seemed to be a different shoe. The toe box of the right shoe seemed smaller that my pinky toe would get squeezed. Also it seemed that right shoe supinated does negating the stability form of the shoe. This pair was purchased on Nov 9 and it is destined to the pile of shoes to be donated. Looks I will be sticking to my trusty BR**KS.
Horrible new design. Previous model GT 2000 was great unfortunately these manufacturers are cutting cost and poor decision-making during Design. They look like clown shoes now or even worse. It looks like you’re wearing them to try to be taller, They run the rubber too far up the sides. Whoever the design team is should be fired horrible!
I was previously using Kayano 31 shoes. After running 1000 km with them, I switched to this new GT-2000 14. I'm very happy; they are very soft but responsive and lighter than the Kayano 31, also less bulky.
Love the fit. Love the feel. Fabric already ripping on the upper though.
Bought my first pair two weeks ago and just bought a second pair. Support is great, especially in the heal with this tongue design. All other running shoes that I have tried recently were getting too soft and cushiony. I just left my former preferred brand of many years for this Asics shoe, after trying out many other brands and shoes, their porridge was either too hot (soft) or cold (hard). This one was just right, as it has the right balance of cushion, firmness and support. Don't mess it up with the 15 or future generations, Asics!
I am an experienced runner and average 15-25 road miles per week. I purchased the GT 2000 hoping to add some support. While the shoe did offer some medial support I was severely disappointed with the performance of this shoe. The traction on the sole does not feel like it will be grippy enough. The toebox tapers in and felt restrictive. More importantly, the shoes gave me significant blisters on the sides of my feet and big toe. This is unacceptable in a running shoe, and now I’m hoping to salvage some use as walkers.
i really really like this model especially because the 'heel counter' is so solid. the previous models have been mostly crap and getting your foot sometimes-with socks & without- into the shoe without the heel counter collapsing was beyond frustrating but BOOM the 14 made that go away like a bad cold. i do have to add i have a solid plastic arch support i wear 24/7 adding to the equation. i wear my Asics year round in VT even in the winter. I've been an Asics GT2000 wearer since model 6, I think. thank you.
I recently had two hip replacements and started walking as therapy. I bought the Nimbus. My left foot tends to moderately overpronate so the foam sinks and causes the ankle to roll inward more. I decided to add the GTS 2000 since it still had a decent cushioning. I've noticed that the shoes angles my foot outward to prevent the rolling. Since the GTS-2000 is much lighter, I tend to use it on my faster walks. 3 months after surgery, I'm walking a mile in about 20 minutes, almost completely normal.
This is probably my 10th or 11th consecutive pair of various models of Asics walking shoes. Obviously, a fan. I usually give 5 stars, but the fit on these is a little different, causing a little toe pain from tightness and rubbing - likely a defective pair - but I dunno. Hoping to develop sufficient callous shortly or I'll likely seek a replacement pair. STILL an avid Asics fan.
A massive fan for over 7 years of the GT2000s. Many pairs. But since version 12 they are terrible. I just tried the 14's, still terrible. Since v12, the tounge is thin / not nearly as supportive and the shape of the sole is wildly different. It feels like an entirely different model of shoe. Unfortunately, I will be returning the 14's and finding another brand that matches the 11's.
