I received this pack 2 days before embarking on a 150 mile trek through the backcountry of Yellowstone NP. This pack more than provided for all of my needs. Extremely comfortable, and extremely durable. I really put this pack through the the ringer, adding to my adventure with miles through Grand Teton NP and Badlands NP. This pack accommodated all of the various needs. Will be once again strapping up with this pack this weekend for an Appalachian Trail section hike, and a thru hike of the Foothills Trail.
I got this pack about 3 weeks ago and I have tested it out several times. It is a very simple and easy-to-use pack with great features and comfort. It is easy to adjust the torso length and various straps, and all of the storage compartments work well. If you are looking for something to keep you comfortable and happy on the trail this is the way to go! Definitely for longer trips where you would need a BV 500 or more gear. In the last month, this pack has been used in the Sierra's, Humbolt-Toiyabe national forest in Nevada, and Pine Valley in Utah on 2+ night backpacking trips. I have never been disappointed by anything I have used from Gregory, and this bag has been a solid piece of gear. 10/10 would recommend!
I do really like my backpack - The side zipper entrance is a game changer! Its very comfortable to wear for long periods. If you are doing multiple days maybe get the 60 or 65L. The pockets on the hips are not able to be closed one handed so you need to reach across your body to close the zipper which is not the most convenient thing when you have 50 lbs in the pack.
I bought this pack to replace an old Gregory forester that lived a happy life but has now passed on. I'm pretty stoked! Super comfy! Light! Nice color! Tons of storage! And holds the weight and stuff I need for backpack trips. I bought a Jade pack for my wife and she's just as stoked as I am.
I just hiked 5 miles at Kings Mountain state park for a gear shakeout for a trip to Utah. I'm extremely impressed with the pack overall. As a 6 ft 2 in 300lb dude it was a game changer from my Kelty coyote 80 I've used for 13 years. Can't say enough good so far!
Used for my rim to rim grand canyon hike and it worked great! Very comfy with around 24 lbs of gear. Such a great pack for the price.
