I usually wear a women’s size 9W in Vasque, but I opted for the men’s size 7W in the St. Elias since the women’s version doesn’t come in wide. They fit perfectly! There’s a bit of break-in time, maybe just a few miles, especially around the tongue, but once they’re molded to your feet, they’re really comfortable—even with thick socks. I’m a fan of the Clay color; it has a timeless appeal. I do wish there was a heel tab for easier on-and-off, and it would also be handy for attaching a carabiner when I travel. Overall, these boots have quickly become a favorite for my outdoor adventures in colder temps!
I picked up the Vasque St. Elias Men's Waterproof Hiking Boots in Brown and I'm really impressed. They're rugged and durable without feeling bulky—surprisingly lightweight for how solid they are. The waterproofing has held up great so far. I highly recommend getting your feet scanned in-store before buying. I did the scan and ordered online—fit was perfect right out of the box. Only downside: the laces are a bit short. Then again, every Red Wing boot I’ve bought came the same way, so I guess I’m used to it. Still, great boots overall. Definitely recommend.
I've worn several pairs of these boots over the last 15 years and they are great. They had gone through some minor modifications in the past that changed the fit a bit and extended the break-in period, but I still love the boots for mountain hiking and day to day kicking around. A couple of years back I had written 3-star review due to the changes, but once those boots were broken in they were excellent.
I was hoping this shoe would be as comfortable as the Juxt but in a leather version. It is not comfortable and the tongue of the shoe creates a pressure point on the top of my foot because it’s to thick and bulky. Going back to the Juxt even though it breaks down within 6 months.
Very happy with this purchase. Not as good as my original Vasque, but those are not available anymore.
These boots fit well and provide great ankle support. Nice color
