Good but not Great

I am writing this review based on making hot coffee. The brewing method was exactly like making a regular French Press except when pushing down the grinds you need to take your time. The coffee grinds could be any coarse (fine, medium or corse). The filter kept the coffee grinds at bay. The thermos kept the contents hot. The taste test, I had 2 different results. Through the mouth hole, tasted like plastic. When pouring into a mug, I did not get that taste. It tasted fine. One improvement I would suggest is to have a rubber bottom. It would help stabilize the thermos when pushing the coffee grinds down. In my opinion, overall the product is good except there is a plastic taste through the mouth hole. Carrying an extra mug defeats the purpose of owning this thermos.

Great design, doesn’t last

Unfortunately it is nearly useless now. Overall I loved the mug, it is spill proof and keeps mr coffee hot. The last couple weeks, the lid will randomly pop off and the mug and contents spill to the ground. This happens when hot water is added and pressure builds up. A loud pop happens as the thermos ejects the lid, causing me to have hot coffee and grounds splashed all over my feet.

Best of the Best

This is truly the most effective efficient coffee press/vessel of any I’ve ever had. It’s washable, portable, keeps the coffee piping hot for at least an hour (like burns your mouth if you don’t let it breath completely open) and hot for four minimum. I have a 30 year old Stanley thermos that looks like the day it was bought, inside and out. Very much the best value money can buy.

Easy, Convenient French Press!

We inherited a Stanley Thermos from my wife's family and no telling its age. We drink a lot, a Lot, of coffee and I'm always looking for different ways to brew. I was thrilled to run across Stanley's French Press Travel Mug! I've used it numerous times since purchasing it it and it brews a nice cup of coffee. It's convenient to use, easy to clean, and doesn't over cook coffee when left for a while with the top on. I'll be ordering another for a Christmas present for a family who is also an avid coffee drinker. Great Job, Stanley!

Lid is my favorite part

My boyfriend has had the Starbucks edition of this mug for years, and after jealously stealing his multiple times I had to get my own! I’ve seen a few other reviews commenting on the lid being unnecessarily complicated, but the lid is a good portion of why I chose this mug. I love that there’s no inaccessible levers or mechanical bits that are difficult to clean and may harbor mold (such as may exist on button press lids or lids with slide open drink holes, I had this issue with another mug I used to use) just a good old fashioned sip lid! It’s true that it makes it a bit harder to drink while on the go, but it can be done by leaving the top lid open without spills. Keeps my drink hot for hours, which I appreciate as the worlds slowest coffee drinker. Also a great receptacle for stickers!

Great, but make a better lid.

Great mug, love the french press integration, and the mug functions like it should, but, the weird hinge lid keeps breaking from even a moderate drop or tip over. The threads are thin and weak and broke on me just from tightening the lid, and the main hinge used to open up to the spout to drink from broke from just tipping over. Luckily this was replaced by a warranty, but then the replacement lid broke as well. I don't want to go through that hassle every time it gets bumped.
