Great Running Watch
I swapped from an Apple Watch (series 3) to the Garmin Forerunner 265s and have been happy with the change. I love the advanced features and tracking on this watch and it has definitely improved my running schedule/performance. I enjoy the recommended daily workouts and tend to follow them (with an occasional extra rest day) and I’ve felt strong, productive and injury free while training. It is definitely an adjustment going from Apple to Garmin, but within a week I was pretty comfortable with the software and operating the watch without any trouble. The battery life is amazing (compared to my old watch), and I love being able to use my sleep features without worrying about charging the next day. My one “complaint” is that the black watch in the “s” size comes with bright yellow accents. I bought an $8 replacement band on Amazon (pictured) and it looks more discrete during my non-training hours. The only thing I miss about my other watch is being able to ~like~ or respond/acknowledge text messages, especially mid workout. Would recommend if you are looking for training readiness insight and coaching right from your wrist :).
Perfect, best of all worlds
I’ve had for about 2 weeks now and couldn’t be happier. My first Garmin after switching from a Fitbit. I have found it to be a great entry into Garmin and I love all the stats! Definitely helping me improve my fitness! I didn’t love the yellow accent so I switched out the bands, easy. Morning report is game changer!
Glitching?
I have had various Garmin products for over 10 years including watches and other sensors. The last watch I had (955 Solar) just shut off one day. Couldn't charge it. Couldn't turn it on, nothing. Enter 265s. And just now it wouldn't sync, I had to restart it, and it wiped out all of my data for the day. This is a problem because I have the watch synced with apps for my medical insurance and without the data I am at risk of not being eligible for certain benefits. The data was there before I had to sync it again with my phone. I'm getting disenfranchised with Garmin. What was once a reliable platform has significantly failed me twice now.
Forerunner 265S is worth it
I've had my new Forerunner for about 3 weeks now. I was going to try to save a little money to get the 255, but so glad I got the 265. I love it. The display is so colorful, bright, and easy to read. I was a little worried about how the touchscreen would work while running. I had heard others in the past complain how a drop of sweat would pause their workout without them knowing. I had also heard that sweaty fingers wouldn't allow them to pause a workout. None of this occurs with the 265 because you can set your workouts up so that the touchscreen isn't active when running! During a workout, the watch is controlled by the side buttons.
So far, so good!
I've had my new Forerunner 265S for about a month now and I've really been enjoying it. I had an older forerunner model, so it wasn't too difficult to get used to the menus and options. I like the morning summaries when I wake up so I know immediately how much/how hard I can workout that day. The sleep coach has helped me too! Otherwise, the workout features are great, the music is easy to connect, personalization was pretty easy to set up. The only thing I need to figure out is how to make the screen not go crazy when I wear it in the shower - basically every drop on the watch face triggers the touch screen. Super solid watch and upgrade from my 245!
Strap too small for normal-sized people.
The watch band. Garmin offers only one size and claims it fits up to 8.25-inch wrists. My circumference is 7.25 inches. I need to use the 4th from end slot and that just barely enables it to fit without any room to spare; can't use the "keeper". Fitbit, for example, offers two strap sizes that are enclosed with purchase. I am not a big guy, am insurance-table average. If you intend to buy, be sure to measure your wrist diameter first. Do not assume it will fit up to 8.25 inch-wrists. Not all of us are skinny runners (I used to be). Garmin: Either include a larger strap or make the existing one longer.
Amazing running watch!
This is my fourth Garmin FR, upgraded from the FR245. The display is amazing, excellent running features that are actually useful. The cost seemed a bit high at first, but the use that I get from the watch daily makes it worthwhile. Battery life is great, I'm used to charging my watch daily and not charging it for a few days is a welcome change. Overall I have no complaints about the watch. It's a huge step up from the FR245, AMOLED display, touch screen, improved sleep tracking, music, running power, floor tracking, etc. The 265S is a nice size for smaller wrists, my wrist is tiny and I wear my watch all the time.
needs HR accuracy improvement
Sleep data is great, battery life is long. Overall, the heart rate function is not accurate enough to make this watch a useful fitness tracker. Heart rate is off by as much as 80bpm routinely. If you pair with a chest strap hrm it works great, but with such large inaccuracies, it can’t discern between low and high aerobic and anaerobic activity, which renders the training readiness and coaching pretty much useless. Garmin should focus on narrowing the scope of their products and working on quality instead of quantity.
great
easy to use but also extremely customizable. The Garmin 265s GPS Navigator is a reliable and compact device that offers precise navigation with clear voice prompts. Its user-friendly interface and responsive touchscreen make it easy to use, while its robust GPS technology ensures accurate positioning even in challenging environments. The device includes points of interest databases for easy access to nearby services. However, it could improve with more advanced connectivity features like smartphone integration. Overall, the Garmin 265s is a solid choice for drivers looking for a dependable navigation solution
Garmin hit it out of the park on this one
This watch is amazing - quick to get up and running. Garmin has made a product that works well, is easy to use right out of the box and gives you great metrics and explains the data. So far data seems on point and accurate - making it useful and helpful to understanding health and fitness. The tech does not feel as bulky as other versions or brands I have tried. The screen is bright and easy to read. Very customizable. It's super comfortable and light weight - making it feel like it's not even there. I wanted something small, easy to use and to the point with data - this is it! Very happy with this purchase!
