Great watch unless you're light-sensitive sleeper

Really like the watch. Huge step up from my 235. Bright display really pops, in sunshine or shade. Even with polarized glasses, screen is easy to see. Battery lasts for days more than my 235, even with nearly identical GPS use. It's great that the watch has an option for an on-demand face that's blacked out to save battery life unless you deliberately turn your wrist toward your face. The only real drawback I've encountered is that the watch's "sleep mode", which makes the display dim even if accidentally activated while sleeping, doesn't allow you to turn off the display completely and reactivate it with a deliberate button push to check the time if you need to. Instead, the watch behaves the same all the time, even during user-defined sleep hours, except that you can have the watch face be "dimmed". However, if you are a light-sensitive sleeper, even the "dim" mode can wake you when the watch is accidentally activated by rolling over or moving your arm. Watch would be so much better if the option of "truly off until requested" existed. Hopefully, Garmin can fix this with a simple Connect update. If that feature were currently incorporated, I'd go for a 5 stars as this is otherwise an incredible watch.

GREAT gift!!!!

I received this as a Christmas gift and TOTALLY love EVERYTHING!! It’s an upgrade from my Forerunner 235. Loving the touch screen features, the daily sleep score, and best off all, the motivation provided at the end of your morning report. I HIGHLY recommend the Forerunner 265 if you want a nice simple upgrade from your previous Forerunner!!

Obsessed with my Garmin 265!

My husband purchased me a Garmin 35 4 years ago for my birthday, I loved it for my marathon training. Recently, I got into the sport of Triathlon which meant I needed to upgrade my watch. I am sorry that I didn't upgrade sooner! The features on the watch are amazing. I went with the bigger size even though I have a small wrist and I am glad I did! The screen is bright during training which makes it easy to read the metrics. I love how it suggest workouts based on current fitness level/workouts done. I love how it tells you how much you should rest for optimal recovery. This watch does not disappoint! There is so much more to the watch to explore!

Tough and reliable

Took me months to pull the trigger on this guy, and I am glad I bought it. It’s been a great tool for all my workouts. I swim, yoga, cycle, play basketball, tennis, hike, walk, rock climb, and sometimes jog on a regular basis so having this bad boy help me track things has been awesome. I’m still learning some of the features, but so far I’m loving it. It’s durable and hasn’t given me any issues. When this one dies, which I don’t expect to happen for a long while, I will probably upgrade to the Fenix model. I do appreciate the ability to leave my phone behind and still have music when I’m out and about. I was a bit frustrated with the associate at the store who kept trying to convince me to get a cheaper model because I wasn’t exclusively a runner and I’m the same conversation told me he didn’t know enough about them to answer questions, but at the same time trying to get me to downgrade the intended purchase.

My first garmin and I think it’s amazing. I’ve been using this watch for 3 weeks now , i am training for a half marathon and there’s so many features that are helpful, like the body battery and training status and more! I love the suggested workouts. This watch was definitely pricey BUT it was worth it .

Great Watch a bit Pricey

Great watch that has awesome features for running. This is the step of from the 165 which I think is maybe a better value if you’re just using it for running. A big thing that sets this apart is the training readiness metric which I think has been a good gauge of my body’s ability to train thus far.

Great watch with a easy to use interface

This is my upgrade watch from the Forerunner 235 (I have had it for 6-8 years) and wow it's an amazing watch. I bought it two days ago, and I still have 61% charge left (never charged it out of the box btw. started at 87%). I've ran with it and it's absolutely so easy to use and includes amazing stats about your run and post recovery. I also love the sleep tracking feature. I am in love with this watch and I highly recommend it. The screen is beautiful and the fact that I can download playlist from spotify and not have to bring my phone is just another perk I love.

By far the best Forerunner

I could decide between 265S & 265 after watching 4 hours worth of reviews I went for the small but returned it as soon as I saw it & opted for 265 I’m a woman with a 16” wrist & it looks ok ! I did go for a butterfly watch face for work. Firstly wow in brilliant sunshine I can read everything on my watch! Have to say the new display is fantastic! I love it ! Been walking & just ran with it and am not missing my old watch at all ( Apple) I have had a F 245 & Vivoactive 4 & this is by far the best it’s worth the expense … ps I slept with I’m a sucker for my sleeping heart rate & pulse ox & I didn’t know I had it on , it feels so much nicer on than my 46mm Apple 8 , you won’t be disappointed
