Altra’s unique FootShape™ toe box and zero to low shoes are built to place your foot in a natural position, with a stable and confident foundation to run on. When fitting, be sure to allow a full thumb’s width in front of your toes. If your feet are used to cramped toe boxes, Altra shoes may feel a little big at first. Give your toes some time to get used to the newfound wiggle room.
Altra offers a range of FootShape fits:
Original Fit: The fit that started it all, Original is the roomiest of the 3 options from Altra.
Standard Fit: The most common fit from Altra is right in the middle of Original and Slim.
Slim Fit: The slimmest-fitting Altra option still allows room for your toes to spread out naturally.

Just rcvd my order earlier than expected. I bought these for work since I work in a Pharmacy and am on my feet long hours. These feel amazing so far. I will put them to the test tomorrow on my shift. They aren't as bouncy as the Hoka Bondi7 that i wore this past year but feel like a good sturdy, well made shoe. The size fits perfect and love how roomy the toes are. I will update how my feet feel after working in them all day.
A someone with knee issues, these shows have helped support me get back into running. Not just on the treadmill but the road. They feel very “fluffy” in the sole, I would not use them for casual wear. But they do exactly what they are designed to - support running.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I will be honest in that I was a little nervous to try out these shoes. For years, the shoe industry has been leading us to believe that the slimmest & most lightweight shoe is the best for running. So, when I unboxed these and saw how massive they were, I will be honest that I nearly immediately told myself that I would not be wearing these. But, I moved past that and strapped myself into these for a nice run. Man was I wrong! Despite the size of the shoe, they feel extremely light weight. They provided so much support and cushioning. I felt like my feet were receiving exactly the amount of support that they needed with each foot strike on the pavement.
I put on these shoes and could definitely feel the extra cushion and stack height. But while running, they felt stiffer then other altra shoes that I already love, I also prefer the slim to narrow cut on the altra shoes and these are the wide cut. Which is perfect for some! We all have different feet. My mother tired them and she absolutely adores them, they are her holy grail of shoe, perfect cushion, perfect cut for her foot! So I would see what type of cushion you are running in and the shoe width that best fits your feet, they might be perfect for you or they might be your recovery run shoe. I definitely recommend them!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I do love these shoes. And I do use them for their intended purpose at least three days a week. They soak up the miles on a soft-but-not-to-soft cushy sole, with a form-fitting comfy upper. No pinch point, no discomfort, and ready to rock right out of the box, They just feel so light and bouncy! These shoes are the best, most comfortable, cushiony athletic shoes I've ever worn. I have an old ACL knee injury so love the cushion to save/protect my knee. Totally recommend!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely loved these shoes! They are a little different in style and design than a shoe I would have chosen. However, I was very impressed with how well they fit and how comfortable they are to wear. I felt like the design of these shoes actually help you to keep moving. They have a slight rocking motion to them when you walk that keeps you wanting to keep moving. I really enjoyed wearing these shoes and I will continue to wear them.
I love Altra. Usually run 3-5 miles in Paradigm 6 but since training for a half and doing runs of 10 miles plus I wanted to try something with more cushion. I got my via Olympus three weeks ago and love them!
I love the color. Love the width. Wish more shoes were made in the original. Like that they aren't to squishy. Bought half size bigger than more normal size, a whole size up would have been better.
I wear these daily for my work shoes since I am standing and moving around for long periods of time and needed some support and cushion. They are super comfortable, and the foam is the right amount of firmness and cushion. I did change the laces on mine to make the shoes appear more neutral, and my biggest complaint about these is the color selection. I would love to see a wider range of colors with more neutral and dark shades. Especially because the light upper of the shoe seems to stain easily! That said, these are one of my all time favorite shoes and I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for a good balance between cushion and support.
Disappointing Experience with Running Shoes I recently purchased the running shoes, hoping they would be a reliable addition to my running gear. Unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory. After running just 5 miles, I developed huge blisters on my feet. The shoes felt comfortable initially, but it became clear that they lack the necessary support and cushioning for longer runs. The material seems to cause excessive friction, which led to the painful blisters. While the design and aesthetics of the shoes are appealing, the performance and comfort are severely lacking. I would not recommend these shoes for anyone looking to run longer distances. It's disappointing to invest in a product that doesn't meet basic comfort standards.
