[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. I wore these shoes for a couple of runs so far and would recommend them. The spacious toe box is great as well as the footbed cushioning and arch support. I even wore them running at the beach and didn't have to worry about my feet getting wet as they proved to be waterproof. I also wore them to a couple of HIIT workouts and to work all day where I'm on my feet all day in a physcial therapy clinic. I find these to be versitle and a great option for outdoor enthusiates.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best overall performance shoe I have ever worn. No need to change shoes after a run before a strengthening session. Great for everything from a walk to a run to a conditioning training session. One pair of shoes and you are set. Feet stay dry, even in rainy conditions. Lots of extra toe room and middit room. So if you are tried of toes being cramped during your runs, looked no mor. You have found your match! Shoes feel great from mile 1 tom mile 10. Like you are running on air.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shoes far surpassed what I was expecting. These shoes provided support, fit perfectly, stayed dry and were comfortable. Most surprising was how light weight these shoes were. I was pleasantly surprised! After years of wearing heavy and bulky running shoes, these are no comparison. Most impressive was the style, fit and my feet stayed dry. I would certainly purchase.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had absolutely no issues with waterproofing in this shoe. It performed exceptionally well when I went for a walk in the rain and would have been especially helpful when I was washing the house. After wearing the FWD VIA2, my feet, shoes, and orthotics ended up completely soaked. In contrast, this shoe kept everything dry during my walk and while I crossed a wet plastic deck. The grip was outstanding. When I stepped onto the wet deck, my foot did not slip at all, and I felt very secure. Compared with other shoes I’ve worn, this shoe provided excellent traction, which made me feel confident on wet surfaces. It would definitely be my go-to shoe for winter and rainy conditions. The shoe fit well, although it took me a little time to adjust after wearing the FWD VIA2. I sometimes go without socks when wearing the FWD VIA2, but with this shoe, wearing socks made it even more comfortable. The FWD VIA2 also has a 4mm drop, so there was no adjustment. I have found the 4mm drop comfortable and stable for me. Since my feet are slim and I don’t have much natural cushioning, the socks provided the extra padding I needed on the top of my feet. I also appreciated the shoe’s versatility. I was able to walk, run, and perform agility exercises without needing to change footwear. I wore the shoes throughout the day for a variety of activities and never felt the need to switch to another pair. Overall, this is an excellent, comfortable, and highly versatile shoe that delivered great performance in both wet and dry conditions. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My biggest pet peeve is when shoes claim to have "grip" during wet conditions and they fall short of the claim. These Altras on the other hand definitely meet expectations! I used these shoes for two weeks on wet / dry pavement and wet / dry trails. The following are my thoughts: Overall fit / sizing & Comfort: The heel is much more snug and secure on the ankle compared to the Altra Lone Peaks, but offers the same wide toe box signature. I have slender fit and felt they hugged my heel perfectly with lots of room in the toes. The tongue is a bit cushioned and feels good when wearing. The are stiff at first and not comfortable as the toes wouldn't bend, but after a couple walks its started to loosen making it much more comfortable. Ride Quality: Cushion is good and not overly dramatic. If you're use to a 0 drop then you'll notice this is 4mm, which personally I like for running. There is a supposed "rocker shape" to the shoe, but honestly its not aggressive and I barely noticed any rock at all. Feels comfy when running and has a little spring, but not much. Great traction on pavement and trails in both wet and dry conditions. Waterproof / traction / Durability: 10/10 on traction. These shoes really have some grip for not having tread spikes. I personal like that I transition from trails to pavement and not feel like I'm running on spikes. The shoes are definitely water proof. I'm guessing the shoe hugs snug around the heel to assist with comfort and keep out water, because even in shorts my feet were dry. I'd recommend this product for anyone looking for a lightweight shoe thats waterproof and provides serious traction. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. I’ve really enjoyed the Flow 3 GTX and have worn it for both running and walking in wet conditions. As a physical therapist, one of the things I pay close attention to in a shoe is the amount of space and shape of the toe box. I work with runners and active people all the time, and I think giving the toes enough room to spread and move naturally is really important. The Flow 3 definitely checks that box for me. I’ve also recently been running in the Torin 9 GTX, and the difference in the fit is noticeable. The Flow 3 has more room through the toe box and feels much more like the original foot shaped Altra fit that I’ve always liked. My toes have room to spread without the shoe feeling sloppy or overly wide. The fit was comfortable right out of the box, and that comfort has continued through multiple outings. The 4mm drop and rocker shape felt natural while running, and I liked the combination of cushioning and responsiveness. It has enough cushioning to be comfortable for longer outings without feeling unstable. I also got to really test the waterproofing and traction rather than just walking through a few puddles. During one run, I had to cross a river, and the shoes handled it really well. My feet stayed dry and I felt secure on the wet surfaces. The traction gave me good confidence even when things were slick and these are road shoes, not trail shoes which makes it even more impressive! So far, I’m really happy with the overall performance. I haven’t put enough miles on them yet to make a long term durability claim, but based on the construction and how they’ve held up through my use so far, I’d expect them to be a shoe I can keep reaching for in wet weather. I’d recommend the Flow 3 GTX to runners, walkers, and active people who want waterproof protection without giving up a roomy, natural feeling toe box. I especially think it’s a great option for anyone who values toe space, spends time running or walking in wet conditions, or wants a comfortable shoe that can handle both pavement and wet trails.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve put the Altra Flow 3 GTX through quite a bit, and I have to say, they really surprised me. I work 10+ hour days on my feet and walk several miles throughout the day, and I’ve also worn them while jump roping and walking around our property. So these shoes have definitely gotten a workout! Right away, the fit was spot on for me. One of the things I really appreciate is the wide toe box. My toes never felt cramped, pinched, or pushed together, which made a big difference during those long days on my feet. At the same time, the shoes still felt secure, and I never felt like my feet were sliding around inside them. They were comfortable from the very first time I put them on. As I wore them throughout the day, they seemed to mold more to my feet and actually became even more comfortable. Even after being on my feet for 10+ hours, I still felt like my feet were well supported. I also really liked the cushioning. The sole feels nicely cushioned without making me feel unstable. The 4mm drop and rocker shape felt natural when I was walking and moving around. I never felt like my feet were slipping inside the shoes, and my toes and feet felt supported with every step. The GORE-TEX waterproofing has been another big plus. I’ve dealt with everything from spills to rain, and my feet stayed dry. That's something I really appreciate in a shoe because I don't want to think twice about wearing them when the weather changes. I was also impressed with the stability and traction. Even on wet surfaces, I didn't have any issues with slipping. The shoes feel sturdy and hold my feet really well without feeling like my feet are moving from side to side. I felt balanced and supported rather than feeling like my feet were rolling inward or outward. I'll admit, I wasn't completely sure how I would feel about the material at first, but after actually putting the shoes to use, I was pleasantly surprised. They feel very durable, and I don't have that feeling that they're going to tear easily if I’m walking over rocky or rough terrain. They’ve held up really well to everything I've asked them to do. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Altra Flow 3 GTX. For me, the combination of comfort, the roomy toe box, cushioning, stability, waterproofing, and durability makes these a really versatile shoe. I could see them working well for serious runners and trail runners, but I also think someone who is just getting started with running or simply wants a comfortable shoe for walking and everyday outdoor activities could really enjoy them. After wearing them for long workdays, walking miles, jump roping, and spending time outdoors, I can honestly say these shoes have earned a spot in my regular rotation. They’re comfortable, they feel sturdy, and I like knowing I can wear them in different conditions without worrying about my feet getting wet or feeling unsupported. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. I primarily used this for dirt road and paved trail running. Shoe was very light weight and true to size. Initially felt like the heel was slipping but with a heel lock lacing, I had a great fit and a roomy toe box. Unfortunately, precipitation in our area has been very low so haven't had a chance to get them very muddy/wet to try out the GTX but I do expect it to be a good winter running shoe as it does keep my feet warm.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used these shoes for daily walks on paved trails, including in wet conditions. I liked the strong traction on wet, paved trails and the fact that these shoes felt very cushy and supportive straight out of the box. I was comfortable using them on my daily walks without feeling like I needed to “break them in”. The overall fit was true to size and the wider toe box gave them a roomier fit. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] but still has a lot of cushion and has the added benefit of being waterproof. The fit is the same as the non-waterproof shoe. Another addition is the added grip on the outsole. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.
