I bought these cause I wanted a thin base layer that felt soft and had a nice shape. These ran smaller and also have a tight feel. There is no flexibility which is important when doing snow sports. They were soft and thin. But make sure you know your exact size. For the price I want more comfort.
Similar to another review and base layer I purchased and am keeping, because I haven’t worn them all day yet, I reserved to a four rating though they could be a five. I like the very lightweight base layer fabrication and the fit is perfect for my thick lower torso and legs. I’m 5’7”, 185-195 pounds, depending on the day. I have a long torso and like the high waist and thick waistband. It does give me a bit of a muffin top but anything I put on my lower body does. Big fan of wool. I bought these to wear under lightweight travel trousers for a trip to Ireland as it looks a bit cooler and damper than where I am now.
There is very little stretch as others have said but that is to be expected with this fabric and it fits my curvy body fine. They are slightly see-through. It’s snowy out and I’m a little cold just from school drop off so not sure they’d work well for all day snow sports without several more high quality layers.
I was looking for something 100% wool and comfy, these for the bill. I have a pair of smart wool base layer bottoms that are a much lower rise and I don’t find them comfortable during all-day wear. These Kari traa high rise bottoms are soooo great, def need more pairs!
I purchased XL should have gotten L. Nice quality that you pay for w Kari Traa.
I really love the color of these, but they are completely see-through! So, these would not be good as your only layer. Also, for me, as a 5'5" woman around 135 lbs, the M is too large, and the S is way too tight. So, I will probably be returning these.
These are lovely. They're soft, warm and comfortable. I really appreciate that they're made from Merino wool. I'm trying to move away from petroleum based man-made fibers and the subsequent micro-plastics. I am happy with these and will be purchasing more.
Thin but warm, and not itchy. Runs true to size, and has a true high waist! Great under other pants. I got them to wear under riding breeches in cold weather and for skiing. They work for both!
Fit well and worked under my side zip pants for snow shoeing.
I ordered these in S and M. I'm 5'6 and 125 lbs, with a 30.5" inseam. Leg length was adequate in both sizes. The description said high-waisted and they were. The size S were a little tight in the calf. The size M were a little big in the waist. I decided to return them because they didn't have a gusseted crotch.
