Great comfy & lightweight shoes

Love my pair of Bravadas. They are super comfortable, light, and great for walking the dog, working out, and short hikes. I really like that the tongue is sewn in and doesn’t move around, it makes it feel like more of a slip-on. And it’s sturdy enough around my bad ankles without being super stiff. They’ve lasted me about a year and a half with tons of use in the spring through fall (they aren’t great for wet or cold weather). My dog is also a fan and likes to steal and chew on them, but they have survived unscathed. The time has come to where the traction is wearing off though, so I’m eyeing a new pair.

I have two pairs of Merrell hiking shoes. One pair, bought for a Colorado hiking trip five years ago, is still in rotation. Another pair, bought in Summer 2023 for a fall hiking trip in Avignon France, is also in use. Because these two pairs are so comfortable, I bought the Bravada 2 trail shoe for, ironically, running indoors during winter with some strength training. I wanted a comfortable toe box and lots of cushioning so I could ease back into running. I like the heel loop that helps you get the shoe on quickly. I also wear these when I travel because they are so comfortable. Bonus, they go well with my standard travel outfit of leggings.

For 45 years my husband has promised to take me to Alaska, so we went this July! I knew I would need a sturdy hiking shoe but wasn’t interested in a heavy boot that took up too much suitcase room. We went salmon fishing and they recommended a waterproof, nonskid shoe. I looked at rubber boat boots but decided to spare the expense and hope my Merrell’s would do the trick. I’m happy to report my feet stayed dry, even when they hosed down the boat and the traction was spot on. No slipping on a wet surface for this senior. I even received a compliment on their cool colors! Try them, you’ll love them too. Great for lots of activities!

YAY, NO TONGUE SEAM INSIDE!!!!! I have a bony bump on the top of my foot (base of the 1st metatarsal) right where the ridge of the tongues always rub, causing pain and redness. I know several women with this problem too and have recommended this shoe to them. Thank you Merrell! Please make more shoes like this!

Love these lightweight Merrells! I wear them to the gym and I take walks with them daily. Wasn’t sure about not havi ng a tongue on the shoes, but they fit like a glove and slide on and off easy.

I recently realized I had a hammer toe. I've always had wide feet & apparently as I age my feet squash & get longer! (hah) I have tried quite a few top brands for WIDE feet. I am utterly thrilled to say these are actually WIDE. (I've found I'm buying men's wide - my feet are that wide....) These are not ugly the way so many extra-wide shoes are. I don't feel like I should be looking for my walker. These are comfortable & accommodate my fat feet! (okay, I'm not fat but I'm rather disappointed in the "fatness" of my feet! I like how far apart the lace holes are, too. They allow for lower or higher arches. Very impressed with this shoe!

Not #1 on my priorities but these were very nice looking. Look very good with jeans. The lighter color is also nice for Summer hiking. Also (and why I am writing this review) VERY supportive. I felt it from the time I put them on. Roomy toe box but not snug. The structure of them is form fitting while being soft and comfortable. I wear an 8.5 in work shoes but always size up for walking or hiking shoes. For these I ordered a 10 which was perfect. Enough room for feet swelling. I will say I wish they came in a wide so I could wear them longer in the season. I would be afraid they would feel tight if I wore my wool hiking socks for 5-6 hour hike.

Great shoes for the Camino!

I bought my Merrell Bravada IIs to wear while walking the Portuguese Coastal Camino, which I’m about halfway through. They’ve been very comfortable and support my feet well on the cobblestones, pavement, rocky forest paths, and boardwalks along the beaches. I wore a different Merrell boot last year hiking the Camino del Norte in Spain and many miles in the mountains of North Carolina. Love Merrells!!

I bought this shoe in the blue colors 8 months ago and have worn them almost every day since then. I bought them for a trip to Greece and Italy and my feet never hurt during the miles of walking. I love the tongue which allows me to stretch it enough to slip my foot in without untying and retying. The wide width is perfect for my jammer toe and bunion issues. I love walking in these every day.
