I got these shoes two years ago. I’ve worn them off and on to run errands, teach pre-k, do lots of walking while on vacation to Virginia and California, and to do yard work. I have very high arches and plantar fasciitis in my right foot. I choose to wear an additional insert to provide more comfort during longer wear. These are by far the best darn shoes I’ve had that conform to my feet and are light enough to wear all day. I’m serious when I say they fit my foot. It took about two weeks of 2-3 hour wear to achieve this. Well worth the money too. But, I have to agree with another reviewer below, the 4 out of 5 stars is because the toe area is wearing thin. It’s beginning to show the mesh pattern that’s underneath. I think the toe area should be reinforced with what appears to be on the sides/instep of the shoes.
I bought these before Christmas not sure how I would use them but loved the color and flex. I now use them from walking the dog to simple hikes to more rugged terrain. Very versatile
I absolutely love this shoe. Purchased to replace the old Siren 2s that I have worn out. But, a problem and reason for 4 stars only: the gray toe cap on this shoe got dinged up during my first wear, in the car on my way to bowling (did not wear them bowling!). I have no idea HOW and I'm not sure the black showing through is under the gray or just a scuff I can't get out. While it's not that noticeable if you're not looking, I can see the dings, on a brand new shoe. :(
One of the best brand of shoes I have ever bought. Have had several over the years. I have really bad feet and have had about 8 surgeries on the right foot. These shoes have helped me be able to keep walking all these years even though the styles have changed they still work for me. I bought 2 pair recently.
I bought this hiking shoe a year ago and the sole started to come off within 6 months. By 1 year I had to glue it on both shoes on both sides. I am a moderate hiker and was expecting better quality from Merrel. I am going to try another style one more time in hopes it lives up to the Merrel name.
I bought a pair of Merrill Siren shoes for a trip we were taking to Amsterdam to Budapest about 3 years ago. I have bought so many pairs of hiking shoes over the last 40 years. My husband had a pair and read liked them so I decided to give them a try. There was no break in time. They were comfortable immediately. I wore them every day for 4 weeks. Loved them!! They are now my favorite dog walking shoes. After a lot of wear, they still love like new. I was considering buying a pair of SAS (my usual choice) and came back for another pair of Merrill...afterall..I can get 2 pairs for the price of one pair of SAS. I still love SAS, but decided on 2 new pairs of Merrill. I have found comfort....why mess with it?
Having difficulty ambulating due to Achilles tendon issues; Siren stabilized my walking ability. Great fit!
A+ purchased for African Safari. They were prefect! comfortable, just an awesome shoe
I blind-ordered these based on a recommendation from a nurse-friend who loved these many years ago. I was in need of a shoe that could support my wide foot and plantar fasciitis, that I could withstand for many hours. I have been avoiding doing things like taking longer walks or going on longer shopping trips because I haven't had a good pair of shoes. I normally wear Merrell shoes when I can find a style I like, but this particular shoe I hadn't seen in my local stores. This was a bit nerve-wracking ordering a shoe without trying it on first, but I was pleasantly surprised. The size I normally wear was a correct fit. They looked good and felt good. I feels like they may take a bit of breaking-in to as they are a combination of comfortable, but hard. I look forward to many walks in these shoes!
This is either my 2nd or 3rd pair of Sirens and I'm not thrilled about them. The cuff on the sides of the tongue are too rigid and run against my ankle. Also after a short 4-mile walk/hike they are already showing signs of scuffing and wear. I was hoping they would be my go-to everyday dog walk shoes but they do not have the comfort.
