Excellent so far!

Well, I received it today and I love it! It is comfortable, good looking, and everything seems to be working. There is a bit of a learning curve, but I was making it harder than it needed to be. Like, you install a watch face on the Garmin Connect app and it magically gets sent to the watch and becomes active. And, I picked a Garmin Coach plan for a beginner 5K. The watch then informed me my benchmark run was tomorrow and added a warm up, jog, and cool down. All I have to do is press start - and, of course, run. Theoretically, the watch will prepare me for a 5K on August 21. Also, the amoled screen is just beautiful and bright. It is a little more difficult to see in bright sunlight than other technology, but it is still completely legible. Inside, it is terrific to look at. I really debated over the Venu 2 or one of the Forerunners. I picked the Venu 2 because it has their newest wrist heart rate sensor, great battery life, and plenty of data for anyone other than hardcore runners. This product is definitely more of a fitness tool than a smart watch, which I love. I don’t get smart watches that need to be connected to a phone. Why not just use the bigger, better phone? With the Venu 2, you have GPS, music and heart rate without the need to carry a phone. Finally, make sure you update the watch firmware immediately. The wi-fi connection was unstable before but works great after the update.

Great until battery drain issues

Great watch with great functionality. Purchased in Oct 2021, I now (March 2023) have issues with incredibly quick battery drain and watch dying out of the blue going from 25% battery to 0% instantly and dying. Very frustrating that a $400 watch only lasted about a year as I’ve had significant battery issues for several months. Use as a watch with daily exercise tracking but rarely GPS. I can’t find any solutions online. This is very disappointing.

Great fitness and lifestyle watch

I've had this watch for 3 years, still going strong. Best thing is that I only have to charge it every 5-6 days (on average if not exercising more than 2hrs each day) ! Battery lasts a full day (16hrs) using GPS for hiking, sailing, etc. Great for recording so many sports! -running, mtb, surfing, swimming, football, sailing. I like that it tells you your V02 max, heart rate max, and the common stats after each run. Easy to use with touch screen and buttons. Venu 2 is the best because you can use the side buttons when you're sweaty, and the touch screen for easy navigation and normal use. Best watch I've owned so far. Looks nice, not too big, strong, durable, survived a lot of crazy, rough adventures!

Almost 1 year - Heavy use… No issues

Long time Garmin customer… So I knew what I was buying and already familiar with the interface; which is not always logical, but still very easy to use. It takes a while to tweak all the watch-workout-gps and multiple app or watch face settings, but in the end I have a handful of good looking useful faces and workout data fields. Bright screen and pretty good battery life as advertised. Highly recommended if you are willing to take time to setup watch for activity and fitness tracking. Excellent sleep tracking too. This watch is also relatively thin compared to Instinct, Felix, etc., they are nice watches, but they are also thick as a brick.

Works and battery last

Does what my Gear Fit 2 did with a battery that last, why can't apple and samsung figure this out? Wonky programing, somethings swipe right or up , some buttons are short or long push. Garmin Pay doesn't work on buying apps, instead some 3 step process using PayPal. Needs better touchscreen programming. Swipe the stopwatch onto the screen but them then button push to operate it, then touch screen to reset? Also the screen times out while using the stopwatch. Even though it has GPS, the altimeter seems barometer based, my house moves up and down 100 feet day to day. Still I like it, did I mention battery life is great.

My Heart Sensor no longer working

I bought Venu2 last August 2, 2023 and it did not last long. The heart sensor no longer working in November 2024. It just lasted 1 year and 3 months. I'm a bit of disappointed with Garmin. I will not plan to buy it again.

Nice upgrade from the Vivoactive 3

Purchased the Venu 2 as an upgrade to my current Vivoactive 3. Mostly it is a better device overall. The screen interface is more intuitive overall and is a nice upgrade. Battery life has been equivalent. I do have a few minor issues though. Firstly, the screen does not turn on as intuitively as the Vivoactive. I find I often need to either press a button or double-tap the screen. Secondly, the design slightly favors right-handed users better than left-handed ones relative to the button placement. The lower button is not as easy to naturally press using the right hand to left wrist. Besides these minor things, it is a great device!

Excellent multisport watch!

The new AMOLED screens of the Venu watches are of excellent quality. A great interface to display all the widgets we want to see quickly. Excellent battery life and a very cool design.

little disaponted

I bought it for two reasons. I have been a Garmin user since they came out with the first auto pilot GPS for cars and have always had multiple units around the house. I have had the Forerunner 55 for a year and thought I would upgrade to the new Heart Rate monitor because it was supposed to be a lot better and the watch it bigger with better graphics. I am very happy with everything but the HR and my old 55 really did better for me. Not sure why but this one drops out and spikes the old on did some too but not as much. I'm probably going to get a HR band for my arm because I don't like the chest strap anymore after many year of using them.

Fantastic product

I bought this a few weeks ago. This works 100x better than my forerunner 235 I replaced. So much lighter. The features are easy to use and very accurate. The sleep function could use a little work but I did not buy it for the sleep nor should that be a major factor due to this is for the different activities. The golf function in fantastic. Whish there was a little bit more info on it but once you figure it out it's easy. The stress seems to be running how I'm feeling due to most of the time is because of working. I do wish they would build it a little more durable to use while playing other sports and not have that fear of the screen cracking.
