Very good all around cool/cold/damp weather top.

This is a very comfortable. versatile, good looking top which I can wear around town at casual restaurants and bars on chilly nights. I am looking forward to wearing it hiking and camping this fall. I don't have enough experience with it to say how good it is in cold and damp weather but my hunch is that it will be very good in these conditions. I usually wear a large but had to get an extra large. I am glad that I bought it at the store so I could try on the different sizes. It's the only extra large piece of clothing that I own. Perhaps they are telling me that I should lose some weight.

Great products, fit, style, but why the moths?

Great products, watch out for moths! While trying on SW shirts at REI I noticed the light shining through holes on one shirt. I picked one next to the one with the moth holes and brought it home. I showed a salesperson the one with the moth holes who removed it from the rack. A few weeks later my SW items that were next to my new purchase on my shelf had moths. Make sure to check, or wash items when you get them home - and for sure buy a wool clothing bag for them and anti-moth wood strips to protect your investment. Why none tells you this when you buy a wool item I am not sure.

Great look and comfort but doesn't last long

Everything is perfect, its a tight snug fit btw, except durability which is pretty bad. The back starts to pill quite quickly, and threads start coming loose only months after wearing it. It seems the intraknit portion is too loosely weaved together.

Slim fit and warm

Very comfortable and warm but beware that it is a slim fit. I normally wear a tee shirt under garments like this, but this sweater makes that tough. Nevertheless, it is very comfortable against the skin and the color scheme is appealing. (6'5"/195 lbs in a large).

Great base layer

It's comfortable, the fit is snug (true to size), I'm 1.74m 74kg and bought M. It is a great base layer and kept me warm during cold nights and days in the mountains. I wore it close on 2 weeks straight and it didn't even start to smell (much).

Best merino wool base layer hands down!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love merino wool as a base layer for hunting and cold-weather fishing because it is light weight, warm, not bulky, and doesn't itch. But I hate the way it loses shape and fit. Earlier this year when I first saw that Smartwool had introduced stretchy Intraknit, I had to give it a try. I first purchased just the Intraknit bottoms to see how well Intraknit performed. I used them in March while fishing for steelhead on the Big Manistee river in Michigan in temperatures ranging from single digits to about 30 degrees. I wore the Intraknit as my only layer under my Under Armour bibs and I stayed comfortable the entire 5 day trip while fishing all day. Taking bulk into consideration, the bottoms outperformed all the other base layers that I own, and I own many styles and materials. The stretchy fabric and novel flexible knee did not hamper movement and stayed snug to my skin at all times. And there was no hint of shape loss. When I got back home I immediately ordered the top and can't wait for hunting season.I highly recommend Intraknit and would gladly buy it again and again.

Great base layer

Wear it regularly for my hikes and no longer need to change into dry cloth after reaching the summit. Provides perfect thermal control during ascent and descent, therefore making hikes more enjoyable

This intraknit base layer is so good I did buy a second

I am using this as a base layer both backcountry and cross country skiing. It is warm when needed and breathes when needed. Very nice light weight not bulky. I am very happy, Thanks Smartwool.

It's not clothing. It's essential gear.

Outstanding for cold day workout's. Pricy but you'll know where the extra money went when the weather gets nasty. Great build quality. Lay flat to dry and it should last a good long time.

Great quality, excellent fit, comfortable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Use this shirt as a baselayer in Winter. It is well designed and an excellent fit. The material is soft with no irritation. I am impressed with Smartwool's consistent high quality!
