Great Fun in a compact package

Brompton bikes have always been the best. But now with an electric version it’s so much better for cycling in the city or long trips. Still just as compact. The battery is good it comes off as means it’s not as heavy to carry the bike when folded and super easy to charge. And I like I don’t worry my bike may get stolen. As it’s in my apartment and takes up so little room. Even means charging is simpler

Not suitable for San Francisco

Perhaps there is a good use case for this bike, but I can’t think of it. The motor is underpowered and jerky. The brakes are weak. The bike itself feels chintzy and unstable. I bought it for my son to get to and take on the bus or train to get to school and then back up our hill coming home. It is certainly not up to even that fairly meager challenge. I love to ride my bike and ride everywhere for everything. But I don’t even want to ride this one back to the store to return. Think I’ll fold it up and strap it to the back of my bike instead.

Well-designed bicycle

We use this in Austin, TX and it’s a fantastic bike. Works great for climbing hills and gets good speed to keep up with non-highway traffic. Good, sharp handling and fairly light weight. You can remove the battery easily to take with you, which is good for easy charging as well as making sure it doesn’t get stolen. The bicycle folds up very compactly and is lightweight enough to tote comfortably. Absolutely love this bicycle.

Great Bike!

I’ve been on a handful of short rides with this bike, with and without the battery power. It’s easy to ride, and the power assist is quiet and makes hills or longer distances easy to deal with. I love the way it folds up and fits so easily in the back of my car! Looking forward to many more rides. The one negative is that the seat is small and hard. I’m sure I will get used to it, but it definitely would be an improvement if the seat had more cushioning.

Great bike for pavement, You won't be disappointed

I love this bike! I ride it without power like a non electric, and ask for power when I have steep hill, head wind, or if a storm is approaching to get home fast! I'm able to fold it to store it safely in my car or carry it in and put it under my table at a cafe or restaurant. I don't even carry a lock because it is always with me. The best bike is the one with you. My husband is a convert too! He gave me grief at first but now owns one too. It fits all body sizes and fits like a full size bike. I like the more upright position as my neck and wrists don't hurt like they did on my Mtn bike. I live in a mountainous area west of Denver. I wasn't riding my other bike because the hills near me where so large, but I enjoy riding this bike because I can get home after a long ride. This bike, with its small skinny tires, is best on pavement. It is a tough little bike that is well made!

Incredible & compact!

This is my first Brompton and I was sceptically at first, but have absolutely fallen in love. The design is so well-thought and riding is very fun & comfortable. Gear shifting happens easily, and there’s a +/- shifter on the left which makes adjusting for going up or down hills much easier. This bicycle is unique as an electric in that you can take the battery off to charge or ride completely without it. It’s barely heavier than a normal C-line and easily handles off-road and hills. With the battery on, it zips. Hills may as well be flat, as you won’t need to even flex your leg muscles to overtake them. In the Texas heat, it’s also a major boon in travelling distances around town or to work. Folding is one of the primary draws of the Brompton, and it can be folded and unfolded very easily. To stow in your vehicle or bring along with you into a train, bus, or building, it folds up smaller than a suitcase and can be carried around without fuss. As they say, the best bike is the one you have with you, and you can bring this one anywhere. I love my Brompton. Comparably it’s a higher price than the cheapie bikes, but being made in Britain and having such thoughtful design make it worth it for a bicycle you can easily use every day.
