Bag is great, shower head is awful

The shower head on this freely spins on the water tube. It's got a twist-on/twist-off mechanism for controlling water flow, and only has grips on the shower head, not on the tube. This makes it infuriatingly useless to control once your hands are any amount of wet. It's such a hopelessly awful design that it makes you wonder if the company ever even tested their product before putting it to market. Adding some grips on the tube, or a little nubbin for leverage, or using a pull-on/push-off mechanism would have made this product so much better for such little cost. Very sad to probably return 2 of these.

worthless shower head - don't buy

The shower head is completely worthless. The housing freely rotates inside the plastic tube so you are unable to open or close the shower head unless you grasp the exposed housing rim with a pliers and rotate the shower head with you other hand. However, even when fully closed it leaks, and when open it mostly drips and does not provide the expected shower spray. Additionally, the fill cap leaked (even when tightly closed) so by the time the water had warmed a bit the bag was nearly empty.

REI should not be marketing this item

The tube and valve in this shower are substandard. The valve cannot be closed (so that it doesn't drip when extended) without it becoming locked too tightly to reopen by hand. The tube, which is thin, was packed bent in half and has a permanent fold near its midpoint. This partly constrains the flow and is the likely location of a future tear or break in the tube.

Do not buy—it is cheaply made and does not work!

I use this for a trip to Argentina. The bag works wonderfully but they put a cheap and non-functional shower head on the good bag. The shower head kept falling off and the water would then gush out of the tube. When I taped the shower head to keep it from falling off, there was close to zero pressure. I stopped using this product and used a bucket of warm water and a ladle instead, with much superior results. This kind of pathetic cheaply designed product is something I would expect at Kmart, not REI.

One of the worst products ever bought at REI

The shower head leaks even when twisted all the way closed. Then, when it's twisted all the way closed, it's impossible to reopen without using a wrench. Imagine having soapy hands! Finally, the hose is incredibly kinked from being packaged in the box and folded. Will be returning. REI should not be selling this product.

Not great product from unresponsive company

This is a different complaint compared to the poor nozzles everyone else has given. I assume the common age of those indicated an issue with the nozzle, which worked fine for us. The first time using this, I pulled it out of the box at the camp site, and the lid for the bladder fell to the ground. I re-secured it to the thread on the bladder and brought it down to the water. Once it was full, go to put the lid on, and it's not there. It's somewhere down the Methow River now. I made sure the lid was as attached as it could be before filling, as I'm not an idiot and understand basic technology. Everything else worked okay, except when the bladder fell over while in the sun and all the water spilled out. I contacted the company regarding this, and never heard back. So add poor customer service the the one-star review.

Really bad product. Shower nozzle leaked even though tightened; bag leaked. Thermometer did not work at all.
