Amazing Camping Little Shower
The shower head is smaller than expected, but don't let that fool you. With the shower head set 6 feet higher than the pump, I measured the flow rate at 0.66 gallons per minute on high speed—which is plenty for a shower. The flow rate jumps to 0.86 GPM when the shower head is at the same height as the pump, though I don't see that as a realistic operating scenario. It comes with two spare O-rings for the pump-to-hose interface. The unit is exceptionally well-made, compact, lightweight, and quiet. While the manufacturer specs list a higher flow rate than what I measured, it's more than sufficient for a solid camp shower and vastly superior to a gravity-fed solar shower. Plus, you don't have to hoist 40 pounds of water overhead—you can just leave the bucket on the ground, a picnic table, or a tailgate. Need a hot shower? No problem: just heat up a pot of water on your camp stove and mix it into the bucket. At only $15 more than a standard solar bag, the price is a great deal. I highly recommend this as a portable camp shower setup. I'm also planning to test it out for rinsing trail mud off my mountain bike—I think it’s going to work great for that, too.
