Almost fantastic
These Merrell’s have a lot of great qualities. The footbed is extremely comfortable and that’s what I like the most. Love the granite color that I got and the others available looked nice too. The vibram sole is a major plus and should be on every merrell shoe. It was a big selling point for me. The only downside is that the straps loosened up after a couple days wear. I knew they would like all flip flops but they were perfect for me right out of the box. I don’t think it’s a defect or a problem, just my preference that they be tighter. I think had I been in the design room I’d have made them a 1/16 wider all the way around too. Still very pleased.
Great sandals but order them two sizes up
These are really great sandals, well built and give so much more support than any flip flop I’ve ever owned. Others complained about the fabric between the toes, I was nervous about it but after wearing the first day I felt like it broke in and was good. If anything I appreciate that it’s a strong sturdy material that will last. Giving four stars only because the sizing is off and I had to exchange mine. If you’re looking to buy a pair DO NOT order your normal size. I have several pair of merrells and normally wear 11.5. I ordered these in a 12 and they were too small. Exchanged for a 13 and they just big enough.

Over priced garbage
Although I had the two years I only used them occasionally. That’s why I was irritated that they broke causing me to tumble to the ground when they were stuck in some muddy sand. The vibram sole completely separated causing the doodle to release. ; (
Comfortable and rugged
Just took them on vacation to Puerto Vallarta mexico and sis a shoet hike to the waterfall at Yelapa. They worked well as promised.
This sandal gets an F+
Really wanted to like these but they aren't super comfy on the feet. Bigger issue is that after wearing it less than a handful of times, I caught the sandal on a patio stone oddly and pulled the front thong piece up about an inch. But not enough to pull it completely out of the sandal. So now it fits like when you were a kid wearing one of your parents flip flops. Maybe if my foot swelled to 2x the size it would fit fine. And of course today no one is manning the online chat to mention the issue to.... so I'd skip unless they're 85% off
Comfy footbed, high arches, straps could be better
Footbed is super comfortable and fit is to size. Arches are indeed really high, like other reviews say, but I have high arches anyway and these break in nicely. Left only 4 stars here because while the straps are stretchy, they're a little narrow and cut into the tops of my feet for the first few weeks until callouses developed. Make the straps a little wider with edges that don't cut and these are five star shoes.

Significantly better than the typical flip flop
Soft footpad with solid Vibram sole protects you effectively from the sharp shells and other risks along the beach without losing that nearly barefoot feel. The sole shows very little wear after a solid summer of use. The upswept front minimizes stumbles and the shaped footpad keeps you from coming off the sides. Great summer shoe, at the beach, around the house, or through the local grocery store.
Nicely made flip. Exactly what I would expect from Merrell
I’ve been looking for a well made flip for a while. After wearing Merrell Moabs for more than 10 years I ordered the Breakwater. The sizing is consistent with other Merrell shoes I wear. The Breakwater Flip has a very pronounced arch support. It takes a little getting used to, but within a couple hours you’ll enjoy the support it offers. The quality and style are excellent as well.
Great comfortable slippers!
I go through a couple pairs flip flops in the summer time. These are among the most comfortable slippers I've had the privilege of wearing. They are light, yet supportive. The color options are great too. I will be buying another pair or two soon so that i can stash them away for next summer. No need to wait or shop for anything else right now.
Questionable sizing
I ordered Breakwater Flip and Nova 2 (both in size 8). Nova 2 fits well but Breakwater Flip is too small. Exchanged for size 9 and is it still a bit small. I never had any shoes size 10 of any brand. My Merrell shoes were always 8.5 I can only exchange once. Now have to pay $ to return the item. Something is not right here.
