Fits like a glove..

I've had this watch for almost 2 weeks now, and I gotta say.. it's everything I wanted, and more. It has a million functions - and I'm learning a new thing or two everyday, but overall, the experience with it has been phenomenal. Smart, comfortable, reliable. Update 11 Oct 2020 I started to notice a lot of scratches on the Titanium watch band after 1 week of wear, even though I haven't used it in any rough environments/surfaces. Disappointed, considering the Ti band is supposed to be scratch resistant and harder than regular steel. My old Samsung Galaxy watch band has less scratches than this one, and I've worn it for 3+ years.

I love this watch

I got this watch as a birthday gift about 3 weeks ago. It has been awesome. I have been using it every day for walking, running and indoor cycling. I love the fact that I don't have to use a HR strap for my walks and runs. I have read that I can link to watch to my cycling app for HR over Blutooth, but I haven't figured that out yet. I haven't had the chance to play with all of the features but everything I have used so far has been great. The wrist based HR has been accurate and the GPS is awesome as usual. I love the quick link up to satellites, and the fact that I only have to charge it once a week (my daily workouts average about an hour or so).

Awesome watch

I got this for my bday a few weeks back. It’s a great watch coming from a Apple Watch. It does a great job of fitness tracking which is what I usually use these watches for. I gave up being able to talk into the I watch for this and respond to messages but I gained dog track (big selling point for me). My only two gripes is it’s big and the band I find less comfortable than the apple but I am sure I can get aftermarket bands for it. I also wish garmin sold a screen protector for it as it seems to be hard to find an aftermarket one that is a confirm fit and function. Garmin makes great products and has great support. I am a big believer in their products.

Sucks

Worst money I've ever spent. Nothing is accurate, from the sleep app to the compass and beyond. I was going to get a refund but decided to reach out to them. Customer service was friendly, but after doing a soft and hard reset, then replacing the watch, after really trying to like it I asked to send it back and they said it was past the date- only a couple months after purchasing it, despite the known problems I had, and they failed to answer my last email stating that they knew of the problems from the start- I should have sent it back to get a refund in the first place. I will never purchase another Garmin product.

Endless Opportunity

Purchased this watch to use primarily for skiing and in the backcountry, but also running and cycling. I read the reviews and was a tad worried when my watch was also dark - man, I thought, does Garmin ship ineffective watches this frequently? I googled "Garmin watch doesn't light up when I look at it" and it's a setting called "backlight." Go to your manual online; memorize the buttons inside and out. THEN, follow the instructions on how to access the backlight settings. Garmin ships the watches with an automatic setting at 20% for the backlight. Yup - you read that correctly - your watch appears dull, dark, and very hard to read because it is set at 20%. It might as well be off. If I'm doing a serious backcountry excursion, I'll go back down to that setting, but for the majority of my daily life, I adjusted it up to 60%. It's solar; I have battery for days. I also turned the backlight to automatically turn on when you look at the watch, a setting I knew existed because my husband has a Fenix 6X and I was wondering why my watch wasn't lighting up like his. Hope all this info helps! Your watch isn't broken, you just need to do some adjusting.

Robust, Tough, and Useful

I love metrics. I was looking to get a wearable that could track sleep, exercise, and has GPS capability. This watch does all of those, very well. Knowing how I perform, and recover, gave me a lot of insight on what to work on, and in the case of sleep especially, what was working and what wasn't doing me any favors (I was amazed at how poorly I slept after consuming alcohol, even though I felt as though I slept like a rock). The display leaves a bit to be desired quality wise, and I would like to see more Xfit support for workout activities and tracking. Overall, I love this, and I have barely scratched the surface.

Depending on settings...eats battery life!

I got the Fenix 6S, thinking it had the maps but it does not. I still like the watch. It has tons of features but alot of those features also eat your battery. It seems I am charging it about every three days. I could turn off some of them as I haven't used them much. I just need to figure out which ones to eliminate. I got the 6s because of the size. I didn't care much for the large faces. This one is almost perfect. I have not used it for my workouts at the gym, hiking or mountain biking yet, although that is what I bought it for mostly. Hopefully I can update this review after I have used those features.

Software issues

I got this watch for Backcountry skiing and skiing to track heart rates and calories burned. There are some serious software issues with the watch. You can see that so activities are fairly accury while others like skiing, Backcountry skiing are very inaccurate. I was skinning uphill the other day and saw that the watch was stating a HR of 90. I measured myself and was around 140-150. The "exercise load" is always less by a serious amount which throws off the watch training estimates. A 30 minute run will give an exercise load of ~150. All day skinning gives exercise load reading of 7.... I'm very disappointed.

Amazing watch! Just wish it had music capabilities

I have been using the forerunner 45 for the last year and was recently gifted with the fenix 6 base model as an upgrade. The watch is awesome and I am so excited about the new features. The better battery life and altimeter are my favorite parts so far. The only complaint I have is that the device can't play Spotify music on runs. Based on my research, it seems that every other fenix 6 model (not to mention loads of other watch models) is equipped with this capability. I'm sure there is a good engineering reason, but I am a bit disappointed. If it weren't a gift, I would likely be trading out for another model.

Garmin Fenix 6 Sapphire Ti

This is my most-utilized piece of training equipment. I recommend it to anyone in need of a performance training watch. Loaded with every feature you need and none you don't. I can't speak highly enough about this watch. The Ti model is substantially lighter weight than the standard, but the bezel does scratch against steel, concrete, etc. No matter. I replaced the band with an elastic which I prefer for comfort. Uploading trail maps is painless, and the data recorded is clearly interpretable. The only feature I've realized accuracy can be touchy with is swimming, but it's certainly more accurate than my Fenix 3HR was. Hopefully garmin continues to improve upon this feature.
