Purchased these last year and have used several times in light snow, deep snow (meaning a snow pack of more than 2 feet), icy conditions, and uneven uphill trails, all in Idaho national forests and backcountry. They’ve got a little flex in them that really helps on backcountry, non-groomed trails (or no trails). Firm grip on icy sections, and the uphill assist feature is easy to use with both ends of trekking poles. Once you set the adjustable track to your preferred boot, it’s easy to step in and step out. I’m 5’7” and ~200lbs, wearing the medium size.

Bought these for myboyfriend for Christmas, they are good with metal reinforcement around the good, but the rest of the plastic does not have metal reinforcement, and is not very sturdy apparently as the deep snow of the mountain we were on bent the plastic back so its effectively broken. Very disappointed they didn't work. Sending them back.

TSL Highlander Alaskan Review

These shoes are fantastic. This model is a crampon type shoe and is real good on varied snow conditions. Think transitions from snow to icy patches while side hilling for example. They hold incredibly well. The bindings on these are the best with the BOA and quick release feature at the ankle. Easy to get on and off without removing gloves and durable. I got the shortest Highlander as I don't use snow shoes in deep cold snow. None work well in deep cold show especially if you're breaking trail. I bought these in Feb of 2022 and used them last winter and into Jan 2023 and have a lot of miles on them.

Fantastic! Step-in, step-out with no heel slippage

These snowshoes are FANTASTIC--truly step-in, step-out. You set the bindings once to fit the boot you plan to wear with them, then thereafter all you have to do is step into the bindings, adjust the heel strap that goes around your ankle, using the ratchet mechanism, then push down on the toe knob and twist until you get the proper tightness across the toe. Easy peasy! Best of once adjusted the bindings stay tight on your foot for as long as you want to be out on the trail. No more heel straps falling off in the middle of a steep trail. What's more should you ever need to repair them, they are modular/completely repairable. Not that I expect to have to repair them, mind you--they appear very durable. In case you can't tell, I'm in love with these snowshoes!

Fine for flat compacted surfaces, wouldn’t recommend for steeper slopes, insufficient number of crampons.

PRO GRADE Level Eqpt

These shoes are PRO grade equipment. The pivot point at the ball is a metal shaft with bushings and pivots easily without the usual snapback & flinging of snow everywhere that the rubber mounted systems can dish out! the tough metal edges are perfect for biting on to patches of icy snow without much slippage. they are heavier than other units , but the quality of their construction makes up for the little bit of weight I have added. If they had a titanium rimmed version , I would probably buy. For the money ... these get A in my book. They will be around for a long time.

Great Mid-Tier Snowshoe

I was pleasantly surprised by how amazing these snowshoes are! I figured the BOA system would be a bit overkill but they make these snowshoes incredibly easy to slip on and off and adjust while on the trail. Due to the mostly plastic construction, they're a bit louder on the trail but that's the only "issue" I could point to.
