My brand new Siren Edge 3s were comfortable from day one, no break-in time required! I felt secure walking over uneven terrain, from cobblestone streets to wet wooden planks, ancient stone steps to grassy fields. And at the end of each day, my feet were dry, relaxed and ready for whatever adventure the next day would bring!
These shoes are lightweight, supportive, and waterproof
Paula, Thanks for your awesome feedback! So glad you love this style!
I am in love with the beautiful color of these shoes! They make me happy just looking at them! They are insanely comfortable on our trail and were from the first time I wore them. I am impressed by the support they give my foot. I feel no instability or ankle roll at all. The only little, tiny thing is that I feel the fold on my right foot upper instep where the tongue is folded (instead of a separate tongue from the shoe) and attached to the shoe. Not sure why it's only my right foot and not my left. Luckily it's not enough to really bug me or cause a blister. I am experimenting with socks to see if that will take care of it. Otherwise, I am VERY happy with my purchase.
I've bought 3 pair of this Siren. The first 4 years ago and they held up for 3 years. The design changed on the upper, not the bottoms and I bought 2 more pair. VC wry comfortable out of the box. The newer design shoes don't hold up. After 6 months of hiking, the tread at the toes is coming off in one pair and they both have many holes in the upper mesh. I hike every Saturday between 10 and 21 miles in the GSMNP, working in my 900 mile map of every trail. If you're content to buy a new pair every 6 months, the fit and comfort is great. I buy a half size larger, a 9 now, because they shrink a bit when they get wet. You can just walk strait away through creeks and carry a second pair if darn tuffs or even keep hiking as they dry out quickly and with dry socks you don't feel the wet insole.
Quality has definitely gone down hill. I bought a pair of these in July on sale an both shoes soles are coming apart from the shoe and Ive only had them four months and use them about 2-3 times a week to work in the yard. This is the Same exactl shoe I bought a couple years ago only the old pair lasted a year. Cutting corners and raising the prices like everyone else
I had foot surgery in October and I bought this a month ago when I was finally able to transition to footwear. I absolutely love these. They are comfortable and fit perfectly. I liked them so much that I bought the same in the other available color.
Thanks for your awesome feedback!
Unfortunately, the Merrell Siren 3 Vent is no longer available but this waterproof Siren with Vibram soles is almost exactly like the pair I have just semi-retired. I wore them 4/29/20-6/2/21 for my almost daily 3.6 mile hike up and down Cowles Mtn. The shoes are truly waterproof. Although worn inside, expecially for me in the heel area because I have narrow heels, the outside of the shoes have a couple of small tears but the soles still have tread and no tread tears! I will continue using them on really wet days. Defineatly recommend. Have been wearing Merrell for several years. Just bought a new pair (another brand), which I hope will not disappoint.
Ordered my usual shoe size, and it fit like a glove! It's light and comfortable... Very happy with the colour choice of 'rock'. I usually plan to wear them indoors for fitness, but this shoe is great for city and light trail walking as well. I previously bought a similar pair of blue Merrells 7 years ago and they still look great, although the soles are completely worn of and slippery now!
We appreciate your feedback. Thank you.
I would love the shoe if it fit properly. It’s fantastic for hiking near water, the waterproofing works great. My shoes were gripping on slippery, mossy rocks, while my friends’ hiking shoes were sliding right into the water. However, they run extremely small, and especially narrow. I don’t have a particularly wide foot. I also sized up a half size, and still way too tight. Bummer.
I have owned a pair of merrell sirens before. 1. Although I didn’t care for this feather.. They are not water proof. My foot was completely soak after stepping in a puddle. 2. They have no traction. I did an easy local hike.. I had to cross a creek a few times.. normally I cross swiftly no problem, but with these I fell a couple of times due to traction. With my old sirens I didn’t have any problems. I put them to the test on all terrains including ice. These shoes felt like fútbol cleats rather than hiking shoes. One thing I must say.. the structure of the shoe itself was great. I have wide feet and they fit like a glove. I didn’t have issues with having to break them in and I could say these are appealing to the eye but that’s about it.
