Built Tough for Utah Outdoors
I really like the Rukus Edition. Best features for me are the adjustable nose piece, lightweight and ChromaPop interchangeable lenses. I also ordered a replacement set of lenses in mirror blue. The Rukus has a very comfortable fit and the build quality is easily noticeable. I’ve had several friends ask about them as soon as they see them. The glare and coming from water, road and snow are all reduced and the field of view is undistorted and vibrant. The contrast from the ChrimaPop lenses is incredible and enhances the details of everything while hiking, road biking or being around heavy snow. I would definitely recommend the Rukus due to replaceable lenses, comfort and quality.
marathon tested ✓, cool factor ✓
Bought these in a pinch the day before my marathon. They look super fun/futuristic and fit amazingly, also awesome optical quality and coverage. They have an easy adjustable nose piece and these glasses stayed put all marathon long without digging into the side of my head. Super exciting because I am a small woman with a small head and small nose and have tried on heaps of uglier/poorer fitting men's sport glasses. This pair of glasses is a winner.
Awesome glasses for riding
I’ve reviewed these glasses before, now on my second pair thanks to lifetime warranty, and I would definitely buy them again. I recently added the photochromic lens, and it is truly the “one lens” for road, gravel, and MTB riding - day or night. I bought a second lens because they were out of stock for so long. Will probably add the RX adapter so I can read the fine print on my Garmin
Get the transition lense!!!!!!
Unreal I just used these for the BC Bike Race with the transition lense. I barely even felt them on my face/head. And never felt too dark or clear. They transitioned flawlessly. On day 5 they started to buy me a bit but I also crashed hard twice so it could be related to that. Overall I am so happy with these and totally worth the price tag.
Best Pair of Cycling Glasses I Have Ever Owned
These are the best cycling glasses I have ever owned. One of my first Smith glasses were the Mainline sliders and they were awesome, at the time. I had a pair of pivot lock 90s for several years, but the ear pieces finally tore off and I ordered a new pair of the Ruckus. I tried the Attack Max, but they were not nearly as comfortable, lightweight or form-fitting as the Ruckus. They are amazing, so light, I don't know they are even on my face. Great coverage, no blind spots, the lens quality is awesome in all light and they breathe really well. Hope to have them for a long time. If you ride, climb, run, hike or do anything outside, these are for you.
Great Design, Perfect for Trail Riding
These sunglasses are super light and I barely notice they're there. I just feel a little pinch of rubber on my nose and they still feel secure. So far I've used them for two days for about 3 hours each day and haven't noticed soreness from pressure points... great design. The transition lenses work nice biking between trails where I'm in the sun, and then on the trails in the shade. The light transmission is enough to prevent me from squinting all day and also lets me see all the details of the trail without feeling my vision is restricted... perfect for trail riding. I look like a serious dork biking in these sunglasses but they're worth it. Thanks Smith.
Love the sunglasses; really like
Love the sunglasses; really like the photochromic lenses in most light conditions - only downside is that they don't seem to get as dark as a normal chromapop lense, so my last time out on a bike ride in full sun I actually felt like my eyes got 'sunburned' because the lenses didn't seem to protect me as well as my prior Smiths with the standard chromapop lenses. That said, they are fantastic in cloudy and low light conditions - far better than the chromapop lenses. I guess you can never quite have it all - always something to complain about. Next photochromic generation should have a darker high end - then I'd have it all!
Great fit. I really like
Great fit. I really like these glasses for riding. The extra lens is nice for cloudy days and the arms switch off easily. I also love that the nose piece is adjustable for a tighter fit on more technical terrain. The weak point is the connection for the arms. I had a pair break between the lens and the plastic arm connection while cleaning the lens. Smith replaced them quickly and easily under their warranty. Great glasses, great company. You won’t be disappointed.
They're cool! Sometimes too literally. Choose your colors wisely!
I have been loving these - lightweight, comfortable, high quality, etc. - until winter came. Lots of airflow behind the lens keeps them from fogging, but also doesn't prevent me from tearing up in cold weather when I get moving fast. As professional XC skier throwing myself down twisty and icy trails, I need to be able to see, so I can't quite recommend this pair for skiers. Great for cycling/whatever else you might do though. Also be warned, the green lens is definitely green, even though the online image makes it look green/blue. The matte white frames pic up sweat and grit, and stain pretty quickly.
Great light-weight glasses for extreme activity.
Light, well ventilated and having two lenses make this an awesome value. I use these for triathlon racing and training. Very easy to change out lenses for different time of day or weather conditions. Chroma pops are great during day/evening and the clear lenses are awesome during weather or colder-runs. Sunglasses usually don't fit my face properly, but these fit very snug and don't move while running. Highly recommended.
