Poorly engineered
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this jacket 2 months ago. It has already failed. I was walking my dogs tonight and the zipper got stuck around my neck. I tried to unzip the jacket a few times. The zipper failed and ripped away from the collar. The jacket is unwearable after only a couple of months. Poorly constructed and would not recommend. Terrible product Columbia!
Best Jacket I have ever owned
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this jacket because I was looking for a lightweight down jacket for camping. I was concerned about the ruggedness of the jacket and how it would hold up wooded areas, particularly getting snagged on tree branches. After receiving the jacket all my worries were put to rest. The jacket is rugged and extremely comfortable. It is lightweight and provides warmth without feeling bulking. The jacket that I bought for camping has now become my everyday jacket. I have since purchased the same women's jacket for my wife. Outstanding lightweight down jacket - highly recommended. Thank you Columbia for making awesome products!
Good kght weight efficient jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is a good light weight jacket but is surprisingly warm for being so light. For the price I'm not sure there is a comparable jacket with real down filling. I woulndnt wear this jacket in 10 degree weather, but it does more than fine in 20 degrees plus and may even be too warm for high 40's. I like the look - the bubbles are evenly dispersed and the collegiate navy blue color is a nice alternative to black. My only two minor complaints: 1). A little tight around arm pits when wearing a light sweater; 2) the bottom waist has an elastic band too keeping it snug but is would be nice if it were Djustable to be able to tighten or loosen. But as I said these are minor and I'm happy.
Groovy part deux
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 650 fill down liner is simply amazing! Columbia has never failed to impress me with their products and this one delivers. I am very warm wearing this and the price was phenomenal. I purchased the Phoenix Blue, I get lots of complements on the color so it must be very good. This will ultimately be used as a liner using the 3-1 system but we don't get enough really cold days to justify spending the money right now. The Lake 22 is light and packable so will go in my backpack when it gets too warm to wear on the hiking trails. I am a beanpole 5'10, 135 lbs and the medium fit is great.
Warm and Comfortable!
I purchased this jacket a month ago to be part of the interchange system that go with the new Columbia Bugaboo jacket I purchased at the same time. My one negative piece of feedback is that it does NOT have the arm and neck loops to attach to the shell as advertised. Other than that, I love the coat, and find it very comfortable to about the upper 20s for short walks. I will use it with my Bugaboo shell, just not have it connected ti the shell. Looking forward to taking it to Colorado in a couple weeks for some skiing!
Jacket fits well but has a weird smell
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the jacket today finally in Feb 2018. After wearing for about an hour, started smelling something funny. Still inside the house, I started looking for that smell. Come to realize it’s from the jacket. Checked with my wife and to confirm, it was unbearable. It’s one of those rotting smells from animals. Not sure if it’s the down that’s not fully clean. I’m not sure of the steps to take to air out the jacket. This should not be the experience when buying a $100 worth jacket. Product can be improved.
Great, but not interchange compatible
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been using all three forms of an interchange jacket as my primary jackets for probably 15 years. The shell finally wore out and I replaced it a year ago. I was thrilled to find out Columbia is still making jackets that fit. My down jacket zipper has pretty well packed up, so I decided to replace it with this. Unfortunately, despite the description, this is not interchange compatible, as it lacks the loops on the sleeves and the coarse zipper for connecting with a shell. Ended up deciding to keep this as a lighter jacket, and keep the old down connected with the shell as a heavy winter coat. This one looks as good as my previous, so I expect it to perform and hold up well. Only thing missing are pit zips, which are a nice feature if you're getting a little warm, but prefer not to pack it away.
Good jacket for cold weather
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Jacket works great down to about 30, 20 with sweatshirt or heavy sweater. It is warmer than you would think when you see actually jacket. I can't mine to puff out as much as the pictures. Pockets are nice and big, but nylon, not flannel, so they are not great at keeping your hands warm. Jackets runs a bit small. I have 15 1/2 neck, 38 chest and 31 waist and with heavy sweatshirt and t-shirt, the jacket is snug (large would probably be too big but I frequently find a small the best fit).
Decent Base Layer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this jacket as a base layer for winter activities. It ran pretty large even though the same size usually fits me at other stores, so make sure you pay attention to that if you are buying it online. One complaint I had was that there is no adjustability in the jacket that would allow you to cinch the ends of sleeves or around your waist and neck. Also, there is a bit less down than I was expecting, but it is still a warm jacket.
Men's Lake 22 Jacket Rocks!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's literally a feather-weight jacket that warms the body & soul on those days when the mercury dips into the 30's Fahrenheit. With a good underlayment, it's good for windchills down into the low 20's. It's a great jacket for shopping or whenever you're out & about and find yourself carrying it around indoors too - it's not like dragging around heavy, bulky jacket or parka that quickly becomes a nuisance to handle. Highly recommend!
