For the price point it does exactly what I need it to do. I use it for biking. It's not the brightest light but it helps me a lot at night riding. I didn't need anything too extravagant so this did the job greatly!
Recently, I purchased a Black Diamond SPOT, but was disappointed with its performance, so I replaced it with an Astro and have never looked back. The Astro has a straight-forward operating system, plenty lumens for my backpacking needs, offers pure white lighting for reading (no yellow dot), a nice balance between wide and narrow angle, and a lock setting. Perfect! The good news is it took getting frustrated with the Spot to find and appreciate the simplicity, practicality, and solid performance of the Astro.
I bought a lesser known brand for about the same price, what a disappointment. This lamp is adjustable, lockable, slightly weatherproof and fit and finish is superior to anything in the walmart camping aisle for the same price. Bomber little lamp.
I love this headlamp, its small lightweight, and easy to use. I also like that can adjust it so easily. This little lamp produces a surprising amount of light. My favorite thing about this lamp is the price point, for less than twenty dollars you can't find a better deal.
i got this head lamp for my father to use for night hikes. He likes the simplicity of the headlamp.
Basic led headlamp. Does what I need it to do: helps me read at night, and find a place to go to the bathroom after dark.
Flash light easy to use.....battery laasted entire camping trip in Grand Canyon and on dude ranch.
I purchased this on a whim earlier this year before going on a late night/early morning hike, and at the time I wasn't sure what to look for in a headlamp. I wanted something comfortably to wear, but bright enough to light up the trail. I'd vaguely heard of the brand from others online and thought I'd give it a shot. I can safely say I don't regret my purchase. It's not the brightest light, but it's bright enough for regular trail use. It fits snugly around your head, but not overly so, and I've worn it both with and without a beanie. The button on top gives a tactile click and won't accidentally activate in your pack, and battery life seems very good. I will likely get a second, brighter headlamp soon, but for the price you can't go wrong with the Astro. Not a bad light for shorter hikes or as a backup to leave in your pack.
Solid headlamp for the price, the plastic isn't top quality but it works great. Very easy to get the batteries out. Wouldn't take this on a serious climb but its a great everyday use headlamp.
Works super well, great price. Was at red rocks last night and it worked perfectly for some solid hours.
