Rated 2 out of 5 by from Gorgeous, but not practical. I had great and high hopes for these boots. I saw them on sale recently, and scooped them up for around $125. At first glance, they look amazing. I received several compliments. The boots are extremely comfortable, the microfiber/soft lining does wonders for someone who hates socks larger than quarter. Looks aside, the main purpose of purchasing these boots was for the waterproof and insulation. Sadly, I was let down. Within an hour of walking through only a couple inches of snow (city sidewalks), my shoes began to leak. The insulation did its job in temperatures above 35. Anything below required me to layer-up. I guess the insulation doesn't bother me as much as the water leaking. For someone who wants an everyday wear in the winter where snow is present, I wouldn't recommend these boots. If you're seeking a stylish comfy boot, and don't expect to be walking through snow: this one is for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boots Found these in my local REI and bought them on a whim. They are waterproof, warm, have well made leather uppers, and very comfortable. I would use them for trekking or backpacking, but they make for a good looking everyday boot that could do some light hiking. Only cons are the laces seem pretty weak and I imagine they will break sooner than later. Also they might be too warm for summer use if you are doing anything physical.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really comfy, right out of the box These are awesome boots. I was lucky enough to get them on sale, but I would pay full price for them. They're warm when walking through snow, though they're not really a hiking boot. Feet stayed warm and dry all weekend in 10-12" of snow. Probably not a great "fashion boot" if temps are above 50. I'm usually 11.5, I got the 12 (11 was a bit tight) and they fit perfectly

Rated 5 out of 5 by from finally I walk a lot and use public transportation in the city. My feet also have zero arches. It's surprisingly difficult to find a nice, all-weather, pair of boots (or shoes of any kind) with good support and removable inserts (so I can put my custom orthodic insert in). I also like the way they look, which is not something people with flat feet usually get to say. I went out of my way to make an account just to say they are worth the money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Attractive but not waterproof; 3-4mo lifespan. I purchased these boots in late Nov 2016; initially they were comfortable and warm. After about >2 months of a quite mild winter, they leak terribly, soaking through in light snow or rain. The leather upper seems to be tearing off the footbed, so no amount of waterproofing treatment will help. These boots look great but are... disposable, I guess?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Design, insole too large Have you ever seen an XL man stuffed into a Medium shirt? Well that is how your foot will feel in these boots with the supplied insole. I tried smaller insoles, but still too tight on the top of my foot. I do not have big feet, size 10 and slightly narrow. Great looking boots, just poor design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Man, nice boot. I got these during the sale and wasn't sure about them since I'd not known much about the company. Turns out, these are GREAT boots. Sorta like a Doc Marten but more rugged. Wish i woulda bought two pairs at the sale price.

Are these boots typically true to fit, run large/small?

Asked by: Magi
They run as advertised size wise. Great fit, and comfortable right out of the box. I tried it on with a pair of Salomon I was wearing and they felt more supportive and comfortable. Durable and stylish. The sole is non-marking too.

I know these are insulated - are they super warm/recommended only for colder weather? I want to get them for my boyfriend as a causal/every day/versatile shoe. Will they be too warm for year round in Colorado?

Asked by: AB18
These boots are more than likely going to be too hot for use in the summer due to the 200 grams of insulation.

Do I need to waterproof treat them before using? What is the recommended maintainence on them? The manufacturer website was lacking.

Asked by: NotAnHerb
These boots do not need to be waterproofed before using. Nikwax footwear products are a great way to maintain and extend the life of these boots. https://www.rei.com/product/620639/nikwax-footwear-cleaning-gel https://www.rei.com/product/739359/nikwax-fabric-and-leather-waterproofing-for-footwear
