Maxxis ardent 27.5 2.5
Great tires this maxxis are like all terrain mtb tires and the look cool on my bike
Great all around rear tire for trail riding
This tire strikes the perfect balance between weight, traction, rolling resistance, durability, and predictability for general trail riding. It’s very well suited for the trails I ride in Wisconsin. However, it is not well suited as a front tire. This is because the knobs are very short and widely spaced in the mid-lean area between the center medium sized knobs and agressive side knobs. This pattern is what makes it a perfect rear tire. It will predictably break loose in the mid-lean area. This is the modern way to make an agressive turn. Watch any pro vidoe and notice the way they purposely make the rear tire break loose in the turns. However, you never want the front tire to break loose as this requires a quick foot dab to keep you from going down. I recomend the more agressive Maxxis High Roller II up front paired with the Ardent in the rear.
Great tire
I replaced my my 2.35 Hans dampf tires with these maxxis ardent 2.4s and I also went tubeless with these tires aswell. The difference is night and day these tires offer much more grip in all conditions and have a very stable feel to them when flicking the bike hard into corners. Plus they just look great my mostly black bike definitely benefited from the yellow maxxis writing on the sidewalls.
Grip, Slide, Grip
Tough tire that does great on rocks and most terrain. Great traction during off camber climbs. At higher speeds there is a no mans land where the tire slips during cornering. Commit to your turns and the tire will hold. Semi-commit and the tire feels squirrelly. Super easy tubeless set up. The 2.4 width is a smooth ride.
My go-to Goldilocks tire
I love this tire. I use it on my FS and hardtail. I does great on all conditions. Rolls fast enough, provides good grip, is not that heavy. There tires that are lighter, grip better, roll faster, but this is the best all around tire I have discovered.
Monster Truck Tires
Has some rolling resistance, but eats up terrain like nothing. Biked mainly on roots, rock/gravel, hardpack uphill, and grassy. Sticky, great climbing, great braking. Predictable tire.
Awesome Trail tire
Great tires they will hold your line down difficult rocky trails with ease.
Great front tire
This tire works great in the front ( i have a High Roller II on the back) it tracks well in the turns and works on sandy loose trails.
