Maxxis Assegai EXO Tire - 29
Whether you use it front and rear for a surefooted feel, or just up front with a faster rolling rear tire, the 29 in. Maxxis Assegai EXO tire provides tenacious, predictable grip on the trails.
- Recommended for all trail, enduro and downhill conditions
- Center knobs are heavily ramped on the leading edge to reduce rolling resistance
- Small knobs located between the center tread and side knobs provides a smooth transition while cornering
- Dual compound used in the tread offers lower rolling resistance and increased cornering grip
- EXO puncture protection is a cut- and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls for enhanced durability
- Tubeless ready tire must be mounted to a tubeless-compatible rim and use a liquid sealant in order to retain air
- Tubeless ready tires offer ability to run lower air pressures for improved traction, lower rolling resistance (compared to a tube-type tire) and decreased chance of flatting
- 29 x 2.5 in. size is a Wide Trail (WT) tire, optimized for 35 mm inner width rims

Grips like heck
I've owned this tire before.. now, im deciding whether to put this on the F and R, or make it a F tire only... F and R gives it max grip, and F only, along with a faster rolling rear, makes it a faster bike ride.. decisions decisions...
250 mile tire review on a Salsa Blackthorn C
This is a very specific use tire that is meant for Enduro and Downhill riding. I have an Enduro FS bike but primarily ride light XC trails with a group of younger riders. This tire is generally slow and grips the trail like glue so it’s great for intended purposes but it’s rated as the slowest but grippiest tire that Maxxi offers..
