Best Cooler I Ever Owned
I have had this cooler for two years. We make our own block ice by freezing half gallon milk cartons. We place three on the bottom of the cooler and it is amazing how long they last. We left for trip on a Saturday and returned Friday. On this trip we used two bags of crushed ice for our drinks. The milk carton ice was half frozen when we returned on Friday. Our cooler has payed for itself by us not having to buy as much ice. You get what you pay for. Great product. I bought another one today.
Best All Day Party Cooler
We used our thirty quart for a fourth of July barbecue we were throwing and mean was it perfect for all of our beer. The bottles stayed cold from noon until 4:30 AM when we decided to call it a night. The ice hadn't even melted by then. It was crazy easy to drain afterwards and the handles and deep compartment made it a cinch to carry and store. Love this cooler size, shape and insulation.
Excellent Product
This cooler fills the void between high-end rotomolded coolers and regular department store coolers. It retains ice for multiple days as advertised and is very well designed. I recently took this cooler on an off-road dispersed camping trip to Mono Lake. It kept two days worth of food and drinks icy cold and also acted as a table, cutting board, and chair. I am very happy with this purchase!
This cooler lives up to Stanley's reputation.
I've owned this cooler for a few years, and it has kept my food and beverages cold and my ice frozen for 4-5 day trips as long as I followed standard cooler procedures,(e.g. pre-cooling, using bricks of ice or frozen water jugs instead of bags of ice , and not leaving the cooler open longer than necessary). In speaking to its durability, I dropped it out the back of a truck while pulling onto the highway at a good clip. The cooler was full. There was no lock on it. When we went to retrieve the cooler, it was still closed, nothing was broken, and future uses showed no ill-effect on the vessels insulative prowess. It just has a decent scratch on the exterior to remind me to close the back door of the truck before driving off like an idiot in the future.
Amazing features!
I really loved using this product! It was super sturdy and strong - perfect for transporting everything I need whether it's for camping or keeping some beers cool at a party. The latches that you secure the lid with make this thing essentially spill proof even if it is turned upsidedown. I used this cooler for an event in town that I had to keep beverages cold for several hours and the ice stayed frozen all day! Truly impressive - any other cooler would not have kept my beverages cold for that long. One final note: the color is classic and timeless. I would definitely recommend this product to my friends.
Cooler
Construction of cooler is excellent - good seal, good latch, strong handles, hose compatible drain. It falls short on ice retention v. price. It keeps ice only as well as standard (non rotomold) coolers but is 2-3 times the price. This cooler must be kept out of sunlight as its dark color absorbs heat quickly. Works well for short trips where ice retention is not critical.
I took this on a cross country road trip
I love this cooler. Just right for 1-3 people, and has a DRAIN PLUG! Don’t fret if you’ve read reviews saying the drain leaks — it doesn’t, just make sure the outside plastic nut istightened. I drove thru Utah, Colorado, Nebraska and Iowa in mid July, leaving the cooler in the back passenger floor for a solid month — drained and added 7 to 10 lbs of ice every 2 or 3 days, everything stayed cold. it is sturdy and thick-walled without being ridiculous. I shopped for weeks for a great cooler, ordered (and returned) something from Amazon, read a zillion reviews, went to every store in town to look at the approx 30 qt sizes, this is the best (but not the cheapest). so happy my REI had it in store!
Well built, the right dimensions, keeps food cold!
Love this new Stanley Cooler. It is a straight forward design with no bells or whistles, which is what I really like about it. Opens easily. Nice handles for moving to / from locations. The depth is perfect for ice, plus tall bottles (like wine or milk) and plenty of room for food. We took this on a three day camping trip. I put one 5 pound block of ice in the cooler and never needed to refill. Pretty impressive. Weather was about 78-80 during the day. There is a easy pour for water and cleaning is a breeze. Thank you Stanley for another solid product that works.
Cold Drinks turned Frozen!
Took this cooler out for the first time to my husband's company softball tournament in 95 degree heat. It sat in the sun all day and our drinks actually started to freeze! It is durable and sturdy and definitely a worthwhile purchase!
Very portable and perfect size for small group
We've taken this cooler out for two adventures so far. The first was a two-day camping trip for two, and the second was a day trip to the river with friends. It was the perfect size for both trips. I really like that the dimensions (taller instead of wider) allow you to easily place the cooler on the back seat of a car, or if we put it in the back hatch, there is still plenty of room for the dog next to it. It kept drinks and groceries cold, and I like that it doubles as a sturdy seat. Bonus: Don't try this at home, but it does in fact float.
