The OG Cooler
It’s perfect for day trips. My parents had this exact model in the last’70’s - early 80’s!
Best lunch box ever.
I purchased my 7 quart cooler in 1973 when I started driving trucks. It has seen lots of use and abuse over its life time. It has always kept things cold no matter the time of year. During the winter months it keeps my drinks from freezing and in the heat of the summer it keeps things cold. After all these years it's a little worse for wear, but still does it's job. My wife tried to get me to replace it several times over the years, but I always went back to my trusted red and white cooler.

I can’t praise this cooler enough!! 3 solid days in the hot trunk with 1 7lb-bag of ice and 3 ice packs and at the end the ice packs were still half frozen, half the ice remained (the other part ice cold water in the bag), and all the food was COLD! Not $100, $150, $200 or more: only $35! Igloo’s 16qt Playmate Max Cold Elite.
Playmate Cooler Great
I have had a playmate cooler since 3/2009. Took it everywhere. Used it all the time. Recently the push button to open it broke. Very upset and went looking for another one. Went on line and purchased it. This one is a little bit larger than what I had which is fine. Went shopping the other day, bought 1/4 watermelon and other cold items and everything fit in. Very happy.
Not the quality of years ago
The lock button is sticky and needs to be shaken to lock. You can’t just flip the lid to the upright position and have the lock button catch. I’ve owned these style of igloo coolers for decades and the latest one I purchased has some poor quality control compared to previous coolers.
Love my red Igloo!
Love this red igloo! Lots of room for snacks and drinks. Fits well in the back of my car. Handle feels sturdy and makes it easy to put it in and take it out my car. My husband has a matching blue igloo that he takes to work.
Cooler
We have had one for over 20 years and it needed to be replaced. This new one is the style we have come to love and enjoy, and I am glad we were able to find an updated cooler.
16ct cooler is the way to go!
We are replacing one from 16 years ago!! These are the best coolers ever!!! They last a long time, perfect size for ever outing, and it keeps your beverages cold!
