Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable trail runner Bought for the wide toe box. I get compliments on the looks all the time. I have about 250 miles on varied trail surfaces and they are holding up well. I managed to puncture through the top of the shoe fabric near the big toe (no fault of the shoe) and the hole has not grown or torn (very surprised and happy about this). The soles show no wear. I love these shoes very much and I should pick up a 2nd pair before they aren't available or they make changes. My biggest complaint is I'm between a 10 and 11 and I really want a 10.5 not an 11. I tripped over the toes for a while but got used to them. Please Topo, make larger 1/2 sizes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe for hitting the trails I've been teaching myself to be a midfoot/forefoot striker to alleviate recurrent hip problems and incorporating trails to mix it up. On roads I love Newtons but I wanted decent cushioning with a low drop for trails. Never heard of this brand but it had the only description matching my wishlist, loved the black ice color, and the price was reasonable. Took them on some trails in Marin and loved it! Felt stable going up and down some tricky bits, and now totally in love with this shoe. And the cushioning was just right.... not too much and not too little. Officially my new trusty trail running buddy and I can't wait to do more trail runs with these!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from my soul mate I live in Hawaii so am constantly on trails and mountains. I love these shoes and ran my first ultra in them on some technical trail in tantalus mountain. I felt good, comfortable and especially like the wide toe box and how light the shoe is. Get on TOPO the mountains in these topo's! Also, I am a brand ambassador for topo and they are making me happy daily. Aloha!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Call the love doctor! A little over two years ago I bought my first pair of Topo Athletic shoes from REI. I fell in love and owned three different models within the month. I'm now a brand ambassador and am continually impressed by the evolving product line. The MT2s are exceptional! I'm no longer embarrassed to wear sandals. Why? Thanks to the wide toe box my piggies have room to splay and my toenails are all intact! The uppers are comfortable and breathable, feeling more like a sock than a shoe. Another reviewer stated they wore through the uppers near the big toe. I haven't had that happen in my MT2s, but have worn a small spot through the top in different model of Topos at 250+ miles (the hole has stayed small and does not affect wear). Cushioning provides ample protection on the rockiest of trails without taking away ground feel. My MT2s have 300+ miles with minimal visible wear on the rubber. If you are looking for a light weight, flexible shoe the MT2 is for you!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Shoe Bought these shoes for hiking as I prefer trail runners to boots on most trails. The toe box was roomy which is why I bought these but still compressed my pinky toes a bit. After a couple days of breaking in they were comfortable enough and I was pleased with the fit since they were leagues better than tight fitting trail runners like the Cascadias. HOWEVER I have only had them for less than two weeks and put MAYBE 75 trail miles on them and they are already showing serious wear. The toe welts are peeling off, there are holes in the thin grey fabric, and the stitching by the lace loops is coming undone and tearing. These are a lightweight shoe and relatively inexpensive so I didn't expect to have them for years but I thought they'd at least last the summer, let alone a month! All the trails I've been on have been well maintained pretty light trails but at this rate it seems they will disintegrate within another week. I plan on returning them, but for a hundred bucks you expect a pair of shoes that aren't going to immediately start breaking down. These shoes were described to me as identical to the Runventures minus the rock plate so I wouldn't recommend buying those either, possibly not any of topo-athletics products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight cushion I bought these shoes online, with zero knowledge of them. I'd never heard of the brand but decided to take a chance on them. I usually run in Brooks Cascadia, to give you an idea of my favorite shoe. These shoes have a generous toe box and are narrow enough for my AAAA foot (they don't fit perfectly but they do seem to run narrow). I ran on the dirt bike trails for about 2 hours and was impressed. The cushion was nice in that it felt cushion-y but not over-the-top. They were quite comfortable and I was incredibly pleased with this shoe. I've had it now for a month and continue to be pleased with it. I cant think of any cons but I'm sure they exist - nothing is perfect. I will definitely buy these shoes again. I'm guessing that wide feet might be a problem but can't honestly say.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used for light trail, grass and road. I needed to find a trail shoe that had wide enough toe box, seams that didn't rub my tailor bunion and light enough that I didn't feel like my feet were in cinder blocks after 20 miles. I wear them running on concrete around my old HS, miles pounding the road and on the way to the soccer fields where I do most of my running during the week. They are comfortable and light enough that my legs, back and feet didn't have any issues after running a 5 mile speed work session on concrete or a 20 miler road run. My feet didn't ache nor did my arches. I have high arches and these shoes seem to adjust to my feet. I actually wore them in a 5k road race full of rolling hills and my legs and feet were happy with the shoes. I got to hit a non technical trail this weekend and the shoe handled great. At no time did I feel like my ankle would roll or twist when I landed unevenly. I actually ordered another pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Women's topo athletic I love these shoes. Has lot of room on toe box. They have a 3mm drop and that has really helped my Achilles tendinitis. I can finally run pain free and enjoy the wide toe box. I have narrow feet so these work well for me. Liked them so much I bought a second pair. I highly recommend this show.
